apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Trendir.com

6_8_tendir.jpgIn honor of BATHROOM MONTH we wanted to post Trendir.com, a website we found a few months ago, which is bills itself as "latest products and trends," but does a great job of covering bathroom and kitchen hardware in particular.

6_8_trendirsink.jpgRun by Lilian Pikus, an interior designer, and her husband, Joe Pikus, who must be the tech guru, Lilian posts about once a day in categories such as bathroom faucets, bathtubs, countertops and fireplaces. Her taste is very contemporary, and she loves a clean stainless steel product, a big platform bed and all the practical stuff that you don't think about right away like shower fixtures and small bathroom sinks (like the pure stone sink above by Villeroy & Boch). It's on our daily blogroll. (Thanks, Lilian!) MGR

Chalk it up to "dept. of good ideas", but appropriate to bathroom month. Has anyone heard of a sink that could be raised or lowered as needed? Having recently endured back pain (all better now) it was terribly uncomfortable to even bend slightly over the basin and being able to raise it would have been a godsend. It would also be very convenient for families with small children. I'm no plumbing engineer but it seems to me some kind of flexible pipes could be rigged somehow.

Well, there is Adjust-a-sink (at www.bjindustries.com/Bathroom.htm). But it's one of those practical rather items that decor-wise leave much to be desired. Wonder if anyone else make something like this? I'd love to use a sink and not have to stoop over so far to reach it.
