The Urban Center bookstore at The Municipal Art Society of New York started an exhibition in May — Unpacking My Library — that explores the book collections of noted New York area architects and highlights their unique taste in art books, fiction and non-fiction.
Unpacking My Library at the Urban Center Gallery features a different New York architect and their book collection every month — beginning with Peter Eisenmann in May, the exhibit currently focuses on the books of Stan Allen, principal of Stan Allen Architect and Dean of the School of Architecture at Princeton University. In September, the gallery changes focus to Diller/Scofidio.
The Municipal Art Society of New York is located at 457 Madison Avenue, at East 51st Street,
New York, New York 10022
Urban Center Gallery Hours:

A book based on the exhibit will be released later this year by Yale University Press. What does your book collection say about you?

I'm glad I'm not the only one in this field who has a million books.

It's funny I was hoping this would be a reference to what to do with your gazillions of books. Whenever I see interior design makeovers I never see spaces with books. Don't people read?
