bklyndesigns.jpgOne of the highlights this year for us was the Pratt Student's section at Brooklyn Designs. Curated by ID Professor Tim Richartz, the booth featured work by under and graduate students. Here are our top picks....

>> The Array Series by Jason Pfaeffle - This is a very cool idea that was well executed. A single cast component combined with wooden dowels becomes a range of useful objects. Very Bouroullec in our mind! (jasonpfaeffle @ gmail dot com)

>> Grind by Dana de Vega
- These two mills, one for salt and one for pepper, were not necessarily huger inducing, but they were totally visually arresting and great to use. Inspired by the motion of twisting, they use boiler drain valves for handles. These would be great at BBQ houses!

>> Salvation by Sara Ebert - These stools have a playful, beautiful look and feel, though they are a bit hard when sitting on them. We loved the idea of using discarded sweaters as raw material which then is felted to become the new upholstery that you see here. (sjebert @ gmail dot com)

Thanks to Pratt and to BKLYN Designs!
