It looks as if it might be the last piece of furniture that might not have fit into the moving truck.
The widowed and ancient inhabitant finally drew their last breath a short while ago, and now that seat might still be warm from having been sat in by the 60-year-old off-spring, who looked out the window where the light is coming in, and remembering how the early morning light that poured into it each December 25th morning had been their cue to wake their siblings up and see what Santa had brought them.
And they've thought about a lot of other things that happened in that house, but now they have finally gotten into their own vehicle and have left to go back to their own home, but they decided that that particular chair needed to stay there in that house.

I love your daily chair meditations. I find great solace in chairs, just looking at them to see how they're made. They're a little like poetry when they're really good!
