Okay, Curtis, what's the story on this one?
Well, since this an actual person, and a relative of one of our own people at that, I shouldn't even hazard a guess what it really is -- it seems very innocent and lovely, almost like an ad for something. It almost looks like it could come straight for the Danish Chamber of Commerce showing people how relaxed and simple and elegant their world is, while still having room for some rusticity.
However it does make me think that when Doris Day is at home minding her own business that this could almost be a snapshot that might be taken of her, because if it were taken of HER by a family friend they would probably not make her smile and say cheese or anything, either.
I could move right into that room. Why is it I can never manage to pull off that modern meets rustic look like this?
:^ )
Does anyone know where I can find good quality (but still somewhat affordable) versions of this Arne Jacobsen chair? I've seen this at Room & Board for $99, but it doesn't seem to be very well made to me (based on the way the molded plywood is attached to the chair legs). But I know there are better-made versions out there. Please help!!

Since originals can be found for $349 per chair at places like Unica Home, how much closer to $99 for a knock-off were you looking to get?
Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel both offer look-alikes. (Pottery Barn Morrow chair for $59, C&B's Infinity chair for $59.95) but may present similar issues of quality to Room & Board's.
The Maui Chair, at The Terrence Conran Shop, has a similar look at $173.
Curtis, I knew you'd come through! You have a gift.
This is my cousin, Lis! My husband and I were visiting her and her husband at their summer home in a beautiful, seaside, village of Tisvilde. Their home is in the middle of woods and fields, actually, with an unpaved road going to the house. At one point, deep in the woods, somewhere I have a picture of a street sign at the intersection of two unpaved, grassy, paths. Some of the images in the link are of their apartment in Copenhagen, some are of the summer house, which I will share with you. Enjoy!
I love this photo! What a beautiful room. I can just imagine a group of happy people eating and drinking at that table...
Also, I have the Room and Board knockoff's. I've had them for almost 6 years, and they are used daily by my family for 3 meals and day, doing homework, sewing, etc. etc. , with no problems.... I've been happy with the purchase.

I really enjoyed all those photos, and I appreciated your sharing them with me/us. But maybe because of the context of the series, this one immediately struck me in a way that makes it stand out, and it seems to me more than just showing us some really good design.
Thanks for the advice, Other Patrick. I'll look into the places you mentioned.
And thanks for the testimonial, Janel. I'll keep the Room & Board chairs in mind as I shop around.
