As far as we are aware, this store is now closed.

12-6-natronalogo.jpgTipped off by a comment earlier in the week, we stopped by Natrona Furniture on our lunch break to check it out. The space is large and we were impressed with the selection. Prices seemed very reasonableespecially if what they say is true and the furniture is all in-stock and ready for delivery! Near-instant gratification is highly unusual in the furniture world.

Yeah, their website is awful ... terrible quality of images and hard to maneuver, but they have some really cute pieces. The Allie apartment sofa looks exactly like an armchair I got and couldn't find again, so I'd love to hear from anyone who has bought from them, if it was a good experience.

I agree with you ridge, the website it pretty terrible but the store is quite lovely. The prices are reasonable and they have some really unique pieces. They only opened a few months ago - a friend and I stumbled by and wandered through as they were moving in. It's definitely worth dropping in!

What's so terrible about that website? And I found images larger than thumbnails.

At least it doesn't have any sections that say "This section is undergoing an update today (February 20th) ..."!!!

The pictures are all blurry and half the items don't have images. Also, a lot of the links don't work ... on any browser.

(And thanks, Patrick, for the nod to fix my site ... at least I mention on the front page that's it's been a very long time since it's been updated.)

Pics weren't blurry when I looked. Oh well.

I went into the store last week. I really liked the merchandise. Reasonable prices and the staff was friendly. Good pick!

Try some of these:

or

http://natrona.com/detail.php?link=furniture&nav=1&cat=sofas&id=3

Regardless, as I said ... cute pieces, so I'm looking forward to stopping in the store ... I just wouldn't order from this site (if you could).

Is anyone able to get anywhere else on the site besides the furniture? I can't get the lighting, accessories or rugs links to work on either my Mac or my PC.

I can tell what those pieces look like even if not super sharp images.

Those links aren't active. Guessing the site is a work in rpogress, as many seem to be.

To hell with the website, just go to the store. It's a wonderful store, great staff and a fun place to explore. I was in there last week and found so many cool things. Just go there.

anyone know how the quality of the furniture stacks up?

posted by Fongcy on 2006-12-07 15:21:25

How it stacks up... I agree many of the pieces are wonderful at first glimpse BUT movers are not carful with the peices. Almost every item on the warehouse floor I took second glace at was damaged, dinged etc. They directed me to some showroom down the street which was under constuction and was filthy. I assume this is their discount showroom, so if you want cheap discount go for the dirty showroom, i'm sure they would be glad to sell the dusty dinged furniture there. Besides the unattractive spaces and the dings, the furniture wouldn't be at all bad. Hope this helps.

Hello,

My name is Austin Nagel, I am the owner of Natrona Furniture. ApartmentTherapy.com is really a great site, I appreciate the feedback on the stores, good & bad! I strive to make Natrona a good experience for each person who visits our stores. Though I realize this is not 100% possible, I'd like to try, as I value each customer’s experience.

I started Natrona because I was frustrated with the price, quality and lead times at other furniture retailers in the city. What are you supposed to sit on for 12 weeks while you wait for your sofa? Most people’s lease is only for one year in NYC, and we all seem to move often. Hence Natrona, Everything In Stock, we stock everything in either our stores or in our warehouse in Westchester, NY, providing instant gratification, is't that what Ny is about?

Recently, Natrona opened a 2nd showroom at 32 W 20th, which will eventually become the Natrona Design Center. Currently, we operate a full service design center, with Carolyn DiCarlo as the head designer from the offices in the space, please let us know how we could help you with the design of your next project.

Until the showroom level is renovated we will be offering sale prices on our last and discontinued items at 10-35% off.

Once the new Natrona Design Center at 32 W 20th is renovated we will be selling Italian kitchens and tv/wall units from this space as well as opening our catalogues to the public and designers for custom furniture orders, we have over 90 different vendors, so we would be glad to help you find the perfect piece.

Concerning the website: NATRONA.com...
Natrona.com slowly will become a showcase of some of the items we carry. Until we figure out which items we should continuously stock we will not be selling from the website. For the moment Furniture is the only tab/menu that is up and running. The lighting tab/menu is being worked on, accessories is next. Natrona carries limited quantities of each item, sometimes only one, so it is difficult to place all items on the website for viewing as we carry over 1300 different furniture, lighting and accessory pieces.

I appreciate all the reviews, and hope that you and your friends will visit us soon. Sign-up for email via Natrona.com we will send you additional discount offers and party invites.

We do not and never will spam, sell your address, nor email you once a day like some retailers.

Please email me at info@natronafurniture.com if you have questions, suggestions or comments.

My goal is to offer quality well designed furniture to the public at reasonable prices.

Sincerely,

Austin Nagel

Move the dumpster out in front of your latest horror story, now so as to comply with laws you have neglected for months. Your employees are looking for you !

read all the reviews, and bought from them about 7 weeks ago a sectional, it arrived today from canada, better than i thought it would look, and faster than they said. their delivery people even helped me move some furniture in my place around to make it work. they must be doing something right, they seem to be doing well.

apt therapy should give these guys a new chance, sounds like bitterness in the initial postings from competition. -maxwell?? help?
