We were over at Chelsea Market passing through a shop on the ground floor called 202, when we had our first
Design*Sponge moment in a long time. All around us were stunning, colorful, simple glass and dinnerware that we just LOVED! We just couldn't think of enough GOOD THINGS to say about this stuff. We're CRAZY about it.
It seems that Nicole Farhi is expanding in the grand tradition of all designers who get restless (and probably have investors looking to grow, grow, grow). Her new shop is an "full English" breakfast eatery with her clothing and her home collection on display.
The good stuff is the glassware and ceramics, which remind us of Alex Marshall. Favorites include her thick glass decanters and white coffee cups and dishes. Prices are upmarket but not unreasonable.
We recommend.

LOL, the design*sponge imitation was cute. She's always very positive, and that's nice. Beautiful hues in the first picture.
glad you had a d*s moment. they're fun, huh?

I WANT! I love the pyrex placemat. A little impractical, but how cool!
So...how do you buy it if you're not in NY? Any ideas? I couldn't find any links to purchase online.
I just stumbled upon this place last night! A combo bar/store ("bore?" oh, I hate myself)--what could be better?
A lot of their textile stuff seemed to be in winter colors and fabrics, which is unfortunate, as it was like 96 degrees outside last night, and I was sweating through my linen tank top. I was not exactly in the mood to look at or touch a burgundy velvet bedroll. But I LOVE the handmade-looking glasses you spotlighted, so I'll dismiss the bad bedding selection as opening night jitters.
Gorgeous~
