8-4-rubbish1.jpgThey take anything. Our apartment is finally empty. After a week and a half of it slowly filling up with black body bags of tile, plaster, wood and dust, Mr. Rubbish arrived this afternoon and carted it all away. Final bill? $300.

Mr Rubbish was four strong guys, the two smallest of which did all the work, but all were pleasant and quick about it. It took about thirty minutes for them to get everything out of the apartment. We asked them if they haul rubbish for anyone and they said, "Absolutely! Just give us a call." Aside from being late, we would recommend Mr. Rubbish. We asked them the price of removing a sofa - about $50 - which is always our bellweather for pricing.

Are their disposal methods more kosher than say your friendly neighborhood DOT worker's (should his/her palm be sufficiently greased)?

Er, that is, the DSNY (Department of Sanitation of NYC) not the DOT (Department of Transportation)...duh

Cool, this could solve an upcoming issue for me.

That's a great price.

Do you also tip them? What's the normal etiquette here?

Hi, I have reccomendation, simply because it seems like an on-topic item, and I had a small job but a pressing and teensy timeline, and this guy's response was so quick, willing, and professional I have to spread his name around.

Mike Dijan, (917) 548-9906, can do both big and small jobs, but what really mattered for me is that he was there when I needed it-- very last minute!

It was just for hauling and dumping a fridge and oven, both nonfunctional, and after months of mortgage hassles, a delay on the floor resurfacing, and being stood-up by someone else I'd hired for the job, I put off calling anyone to just enjoy my weekend.

Promptly I forgot about it, until Sunday at 9:30 pm; the floor guys were coming in at 8:30 am Monday. I called about 8 different companies, and nobody called back Sunday night. Monday I began at 6:30 am, and Mike called me back right away and found some miraculous way of making it happen by 9 am.

Give this man your business.

Oops, as a follow up to that; he quoted me $80 to remove those things. The five other quotes I got prior to him were as follows: $250, $200, $150, $140, $125.

I paid him $110, and paid another guy $50 to help carry downstairs. It's amazing what you'll fork over for peace of mind.

I used Mr Rubbish for several different jobs on several different occasions. I must say the service was excellent, the guys were polite and they even helped me shuffle some things around in the apartment. Great price and most important the were on time every time..I would use these guys over and over. They even brought a little rubbishman doll doll for my daughter Summer, and she plays with it every day.
These guys are a definate need in the community
