5-5-mela1.jpgCleaning that doesn't harm the earth. This tip came from a client who opened her kitchen cabinets up and showed us that she ONLY buys cleaning products from Melaleuca.

"Mela what?" We said. "Oh, Mela-something." She said right back, "I just love their products. They are the only ones I use now."

So, we did some digging....

Melaleuca, started in 1985, is named after the tree Tea Tree Oil comes from (which is used in many of their products), it is completely devoted to environmentally and socially sound products, cleaning and otherwise, and it is based in Idaho....

mela.jpg

Melaleuca started small, but now they are BIG.

They have a very, very large line of cleaning products as well as beauty, health, body, and pharmaceutical products. Good prices and natural ingredients are their hallmark, and everything is designed not to be hippy-dippy, but to look like standard everyday products. My client is, obviously, a huge fan, and I do like the sense of mission, wide range of products, and good prices. Problems? It just seems very corporate and impersonal, and the products look too normal. The truth is in the trying, however, so I do urge a try. Let us know what you find. >> Melaleuca.com

The mela something products are what I use and I have never found the company anything but warm and friendly. I began to use them in my first trimester of pregnancy and they ahve been a dream. They clean beuatifully and with absolutely no toxic residue. I have the pickiest cleaning woman around (she made me buy a MIele vacuum- come on!) and she loves the products. I also use their prenatal vitamins and the doctors have told me that my blood levels are better now than BEFORE pregnancy, which is highly unusual. The best way to order the products are through an individual distributor.

I have to agree with Laura, Melaleuca products are awesome, safer for everyone to use, far superior in cleaning ability then the products on the market most are using and also saves consumers money. What more could anyone ask for? We don't have distributors in Melaleuca though, we do just refer others to shop with us. You can contact me at carol@betoxicfree.com if you would like to find out how to get these great products.

How much is it to become a whole saler so I could get that percentage off? Please emailme back. I love the Tea Tree shampoo I usually buy it from Salons and it has Melaleuca in it. It prevents children getting head lice. I have used it for 5 years and have had luck with it. Use it 2 times a week and your child will noever see head lice. I thank God because we never had to deal with it yet. Someone told me about it and I used it ever sense. Please email me abck Thank You

According to Peta, Melaleuca tests its products on animals. Here's the link - http://www.caringconsumer.com/page/CompaniesDoDont.doc
I like Nature Clean products. Great for the environment and no animal testing. I just add a couple of drops of essential oil or tea tree oil into my dish or cleaning water and it's my own customized cleaning stuff.

Visit the website at www.melaleuca.com. That should give you a good idea about the products, and what's in them. Before getting too long winded, here is the gist of why people like Melaleuca: 1. The products are distributed from a few places in the country, not mass merchandisers who sell in bulk. When you sell in bulk and products must retain a longer shelf life you need to add preservatives, such as phosphate, in them. These products can be dangerous when used over long periods of time. Dangerous preservatives are found in laundry detergents, dishwasher fluid, soaps, shampoos, vitamins...and many more. Melaleuca takes out the middle man and you order directly every month from them. The products are all natural, and cost less per use than brand name items at the store.
My primary reason for switching is b/c I'm pregnant and I've read about the dangers of preservatives and other additives that primarily Americans use, which have been found to be linked to many side effects later in life.

I have used these products when I lived in California, some years back. I have since moved to Washington State (Central Washington - Yakima). I am looking for a couple of specific products that used to do me well--one of these (a kind of lip-gloss, "chapstick" product)healed a canker sore at the edge of my lip which had just appeared overnight--and was COMPLETELY GONE after applying it to my mouth during a 24-hour period! Please advise me who sells Melaleuka in my specific region. - Marquita

The website www.rmbarry.com has a lot of information about environmental toxins and other harmful ingredients in traditional household products. The website also discusses some of the specific ingredients in melaleuca products and the benefits they offer, in the research reports section. I have been using the products in my home, with 3 children, for about 18 months. one of the first things I noticed was the dramatic improvement in my son's asthma. I once used regular carpet cleaner in my shampooer, and we almost had to take him to the ER, I asked melaleuca what products to use in my shampooer instead - my carpet came cleaner the 2nd time around, and my son had no problem playing on the floor minutes later! that's reason enough for me to keep using this stuff, and to try to educate as many people as I can to so the same.
If you need help accessing products, please e-mail me and I'll be happy to help you.

hello all:
I only joined melaleuca in the last month or so but i can tell you this much. My daughter has"cronic asthma" We have spent weeks at a time in icu for her asthma, not to mention hundreds of ER visits a year (The entire ER staff at the childerns hospital know my daughter by name, and when i called a specialist she only went to once 3 yrs ago his coment was oh yes i remember her!)We can't walk down the chemical area at our wal-mart without her going into an asthma atack and on top of thhat i cant was my dishes while she is home (dishwasher) nore can i mop floors ect...
So i got this stuff because i figured i will try ANYTHING to help her and who knows maybe one day i could get here off some of the meds she is on. But really all i wanted was to maybe be able to clean my house before 9pm, or clean up a spill with something other then baby shampoo.
Well i got a few items some laundry soap , dishwasher soap , and sol-u-mel. I will be honest i love the laundry items and the dishwashing soap but the sent of the sol-u mel could be better. Given how strong it was i though well here we go this will set her off for sure ( I waited to test the stuff until my husband had a day off work, just in case )So i mixed some and did some odds and ends around my house ....No problem ...then i did a load of dishes with my daughter in the kitchen and again ...no problem ...well by this time i was getting brave so there was some blue paint my kids spilt on the wall about a month ago and nothing would get it out (not even those mr clean magic wipes or oxi clean ) so i thought what the hell the wall needs to be re painted anyway. So i used the stuff without being dieluted and it worked the paint spot is gone and best of all no problem with my daughter...
So the way i see it is the so-u-mel is awesome..the laundry pack works well and you really don't need much but the results are the same as tide ( however they are safe and i don't mave to drive to the store.)and the dishwasher soap is great you use 1/4 and my top dishes are no longer covered in little pieces of stuck on food) If you have any questions feel free to ask. lomas123@whtvcable.com

I love Melaleuca products as well. I had ecxema, that is finally under control because of their Renew lotion, and the pure oil is awesome for burns. I can't live without it. For those who are interested in purchasing the products, I am able to assist with the membership process online from my home in California, no matter where you live. Then you just order from a catalogue or online.

I am new to Melaleuca and my primary interest at this time is to find out if the company makes any sort of statement about their products all being natural. Not just the cleaning products. What about how the vitamins are made? Organically grown ingredients? Fillers? What about the shampoos, lotions, bars etc. I was introduced and became interested in the company because I was told that it was natural, but many companies report being all natural and are not really. The ingredients on the labels certainly look man made and chemically based. Please help. Why is this information so hard to find if this is part of Melaleucas business practice? I would love to build a business but not if there is not sound evidence not just hearsay. Please help. Thanks, Britt. Please e-mail me at

It seems like I agree with the majority of people that have added comments. MELALEUCA has been the greatest company that I have ever shopped with!!! When I educated myself on the harmful chemicals that we use in our household eveyday I was horrified. My husband and I had previously worked for Procter & Gamble and were dedicated customers to that company until I learned of all of the formaldehydes and other carcinogens that many companies put in their every day products. Contact your local poison control center and educate yourself on the household products that you are currently using, you will be amazed! If you would like more information on any of Melaleuca's products feel free to contact me at kerryathome@netzero.net and I will be happy to give you more information on any of Melaleuca's products and how you will be able to get safer and healthier products in your home.

What you keep out of your body is as important for good health as what you put into your body. Increasing amounts of toxins and pollutants in our food, water and the air we breathe can build up in the human body, creating a number of serious health risks. I have researched and have found many credible sources that support this fact. I am willing to share what I know with anyone who is interested. I have good health by choice not by chance.

At the age of 31, I developed asthma. My asthma kept getting worse. I was told by my doctor that it would not get better and that my asthma would only get worse as I got older. When I was 38 years old, I was using my preventil inhalor 4 times a day 7 days a week month after month. I refused to take the steriod inhaler prescribed by my doctor. (I won't get the flu shot either.)

Last year at age 42, I used my preventil inhaler only twice. I use Melaleuca cleaning products and Melaleuca personal care products to reduce the amount of toxins in my body. I also take the Vitality for Life multivitamins from Melaleuca which have an extremely high absorption rate.

Health is a matter of choice - not a matter of chance!

Understanding health can be quite complex, but the basic nature of health is simple. Poor health and disease can usually be broken down to two controllable causes:

Toxicity and Nutrient Deficiency

1. Toxicity: Since the end of World War II, there has been an enormous increase in the use of chemicals and artificially developed additives in the creation of personal care and household products - from toothpaste to shampoo to floor cleaner and nearly everything in between. While many of these compounds are safe, some of these additives have since been proven to be harmful, while thousands of others are still being researched. There is nothing more toxic in your home than cleaners loaded with chemicals. They even pollute the air in your home by their very presence. In fact, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has warned that "indoor levels of [air] pollutants may be 2 - 5 times, and occasionally more than 100 times, higher than outdoor levels.

2. Malnutrition (Nutrient Deficiency):
Even the American Medical Association is finally accepting the fact that we cannot get enough nutrients from the foods that we eat. Processed, altered, and genetically manufactured foods simply do not contain the basic nutrients we need to support good health. (See the abstract below from JAMA 6/19/2002.)

Title: Vitamins for Chronic Disease Prevention in Adults: Clinical Applications.
Subject Terms: DIETARY supplements; HEALTH; MEDICINE, Preventive; NUTRITION; VITAMINS
Source: JAMA: Journal of the American Medical Association, 6/19/2002, Vol. 287 Issue 23, p3127, 3p
Authors: Fletcher, Robert H.; Fairfield, Kathleen
Abstract: Vitamin deficiency syndromes such as scurvy and beriberi are uncommon in Western societies. However, suboptimal intake of some vitamins, above levels causing classic vitamin deficiency, is a risk factor for chronic diseases and common in the general population, especially the elderly. Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet alone. Pending strong evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements.

If you'd like to be healthier, give Melaleuca a try. Melaleuca has helped people with arthritis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, eczema, high cholesterol, attention deficit, asthma and other chronic health problems.

Melaleuca also helps the environment because all its products are phosphate free.

even though you have cancelled your account, you can still order on that account whenever you want. (really, when you cancel your account you are only cancelling your monthly commitment.) just call the company at 1-800-282-3000 and give them some information so they can locate your cancelled account, and just tell them you want to place a one-time order for a few products. i'm sure they'd be happy to help!

I am a member of PETA and Melaleuca DOES NOT test their products on animals. I, too, saw that MISinformation on a website and researched the matter. ONCE, and only once, was testing for a Melaleuca product done on animals...and they (the dogs tested)BENEFITTED from the testing. It was for a supplement to promote heart health, and all of the dogs tested had heart conditions and their hearts were HEALTHIER from ingesting the product for the testing. Since that time there has been NO animal testing done, and Frank Van der Sloot, Melaleuca founder/President has a high regard for the ETHICAL treatment of animals. Melaleuca does not do ANY animal testing. Unfortunately, because of the one test (which WAS beneficial to the animals tested), Melaleuca's name will always be on the 'list' of animal testing companies.

posted by Joy on 2006-02-14 22:47:35

Both myself and a gent I work with are melaleuca 'members'. A few years ago, he started an experiment. He filled two containers with water and added a table spoon of tide to one of the containers, and a table spoon of mela power to another. Three years later, there is still a yucky phosphatey residue from the tide. Kinda scary. I turned my parents on to melaleuca. They live on a farm and for years were polluting their water table with phosphates and other harsh chemicals from their cleaning products. Now they feel safer knowing what goes down their drain is about as neutral as it gets, meaning their well water will be kept cleaner. If anyone is looking at becoming a member in Alberta, Canada...let me know!

I looked at this website: http://www.askcarla.com/answers.asp?QuestionandanswerID=547 regarding testing on animal/
I din't think this site is really fair to the company. They did two tests, one on a competitors products for a law suit. No I don't agree with this, but it's not a normal practice. The second test was with dogs, but we have nothing to say it was to just see what would happen. Could be they wanted to see if it improved the dogs conditions.

I've been a Melaleuca customer for about 3 years now. I am a single guy, and have no trouble meeting the monthly minimum. I simply buy the things I would otherwise get from the store but I buy them from Melaleuca.
I also use the Daily FOr Life vitamins.
I feel sorry for the lady who said she canceled her membership because she couldn't meet the minimum...I mean it's not that big a deal. It's only like $45-60 month...and it's stuff you buy at the store anyway, why not get better safer healthier alternatives with Melaleuca? And you WILL save money with the cleaning products.
A $4.99 bottle of Tub&Tile concentrate makes 4 bottles of product...that lasted me 2 years! Tilex is about $3.oo a bottle so instead of me spending $12.00 over two years I spend $1.24 a bottle over that same period. That is how you save money. WIth those savings you can afford to get healthier with the supplements...and everything has an "it works or it's FREE" money back guarantee.
This is an amazing company, they are breaking the mould when it comes to Cardio-Vascular health, Choresterol reduction, arthritis... and all with Natural remedies that work, and are patented! That means they proved it works to the US Patent office.
Nobel prize winning Physcist Linus Pauling said: There is no illness, disease, or ailment that isn't directly related to MINERAL DIFECIENCY.
Melaleuca's $19.99 Vitality pak, uses patented Fructose Compounding, this gets minerals, especially the trace elements, absorbed into the cells...you WILL FEEL a noticiable difference or your money back. It works, If someone approaches you about Melaleuca, take the risk free trial and find out. You only have one life, and you can either get sick and hope someone can fix it for you, or you can take steps to prevent illness with good supplements. It seems like a EZ decision to me :) GOOD LUCK.

I have recently joined Melaleuca and love the products. I was recently showing them to a family member who is extremely into ecofriendly products. She took one look at the advanced expressions shampoos and at the body washes and said they had too many chemicals in them for her family. THey contain parabens, which according to her are toxic. I did a bit of research and found that parabens can cause dermatitis and that parabens in underarm deoderant have been linked to breast cancers. Does anyone have any info or comments about this? I love the company but I find it hard to market the products honestly as being non toxic when there is still some bad chemicals in them.

I was going to join Melaleuca but upon doing research and looking at their patent info at the USPTO website, I have found they use petro-chemicals like many other companies do, but have eliminated the most harmful or obvious ones. So in essence, they are safer, but long term use I would not use them.

Kylie, your family member is correct on parabens. Here is some more info as well;

"Endocrine disruptive chemicals (EDC's) are a heterogeneous group of natural and synthetic chemicals that interfere with a wide range of hormonal functions. They can mimic, modify, or block the synthesis, release, binding and metabolism of unrelated natural sex hormones. While initial concerns were largely directed to estrogens, it is now recognized that EDC's can also disrupt effects of other hormones, including progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid" Unreasonable Risk, second ed. page 48

I have 5 kids, and I refuse to use any products that contain ANY petro-chemicals. I have found a company which is the closest to nature as possible and hope to promote that one instead.

Too many people are dying today from cancer and other diseases to take this lightly. Educate yourselves on what chemicals to avoid. Dr. Samuel Epstein has written many books that would be a good guide for anyone to refer to. To be 100% safe, we need to be 100% chemical free. Thank you.

We weren't looking for anything at the time, but a friend shared there story with us. Now we can't imagine our lives without this company and their products. Our home just feels and smells healthier. Plus our kids just love everything they try. We also thought no way we'd make the 35 points. Heck it’s hard just to stay below 80 for us and no our house is not stocked to the gills with soap that we never use. We use it all. Anyone in Arizona, or anywhere that's interested drop me a line for some more info.

About 4-5 months ago a friend of mine told me she had switched to Melaleuca products because she wanted to makw her home a more toxic free environment. I said if someone can convince you then I think I will try the products, because she is not easily convinced. Well I started will lemon-brite and I liked it. I was making homemade rolls and had butter all over my hands. I put them in the sink and when I pulled them out there was no grease on my hands and the water was not greasy. I could continue to wash dishes with the same water. It hasn't been harsh and drying to my hands. The best part is that it last me 2 months with a family of 5. We wash dishes 2-4 times a day. I then tried the 32oz Melapower in case I didn't like it. It is amazing so I bought a 96oz. container. We have a 6 month old in the house and we can do her laundry as well. Melapower last me 2 months. I now use Tub & tile tub cleaner, Melabrite,(You will never need bleach again-talk about whites being white), Now works shower spray (our bathroom sparkles-my husband even wants to clean the bathroom now, Rustic furniture polish is awesome, Prespot for laundry gets rid of stains like wow, Melasoft fabric softener is great and my favorite is Soluguard disinfectant spray it's the bomb leaving my house smelling fresh without a chemical smell.
I have thought about signing up. I know the 35 points is about $60.00, if you break it down it comes out to setting aside and planning about $15.00 a week. As a single person I would say find someone that you could buy products for to make your 35 points. If you have young adults in your home who benefit from these products and they earn an income have them pitch in once a month. That's not a lot to ask. My young adults are willing to contribute $20.00 a month when I decide to join. Right now I just order with a friend. Try it you'll like it! Melaleuca is running a great special 9.95 for the Month of April. If you ever wanted to try any these great products, this is the month to do it.

We absolutely love Melaleuca products. My goddaughter had a sever case of ecxema, that is finally under control because of their Renew lotion, and the pure oil is awesome for burns, scratches and cuts. It is a MUST-have in your first aid kit. For those who are interested in purchasing the products, I am able to assist with the membership process online from my home in Texas, regardless of where you live. Afterwards, you just place your order anytime you need the wonderful products. You can shop by catalog, which you will receive with every order, or simply place your order on line...

I have been a Melaleuca customer for 9 years and building a business for most of that time on a part time basis. Recently I was told that Melaleuca tests on animals and I never thought they did. Does anyone know where people get this information from

The sad thing is that Melaleuca is not what it claims to be.
One if you call their offices you will find out that in Cananda that all of their cleaning products most have the skull and cross bones on it meaning that is toxic.
. While the Defendants misrepresented their products in America, causing your plaintiffs to similarly tout characteristics which were flat untrue, the Canadian authorities require various Melaleuca products to bare the international symbol for poison, a skull and cross bones.

Thanks for the ingredients listings Bruce, as I needed some more info on them. I am considering joining Mela so I can get some free products and list all ingredients for people to see. There is a potential for cancer to happen with some Mela products as how they get their "concentrated" effects are with the use of alkylamines (monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine) which by itself isn't cancer causing, but easily reacts with other chemicals to form nitrosamines, which are cancer causing.

Given Melaleuca's info, they are not chemical free products, so one can only hope that the alkylamines present in their products won't react with the others. Hope doesn't quite cut it with chemicals. They are unforgiving as we continue to see in children's hospitals the after effects of petro-chemicals.

Sunrider claims some of the same things with their laundry detergent etc.. as they also use alkylamines to make their product more concentrated. Still a safety risk. People need to seek out chemical free products in order to eliminate any risk.

posted by Rawb on 2006-04-15 17:06:17

Yes Kylie, that is correct. Not all chemicals are bad, but in my opinion, all petro-chemicals are bad and not necessary to be in our personal care products. The American diet, chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs are keeping us sick & diseased.

Like I have already posted, it is a fact that Mela products contain ingredients which will undermine long term health. Now I am sure there are a few products which are free from scientific manipulation and therefore be safe to use, however, from what I have seen so far is enough info to draw a conclusion that Melaleuca is a way to make money, while not disclosing the whole truth of the matter.

The biggest selling points I have seen so far have been;
-priced to compete with Walmart prices (due to the next selling feature)
-concentrated and go further for the money
-safer to use than the mainstream

Sunrider, another company similar to Mela but holds itself to an even higher standard and touts themselves as the fastest growing herbal company in the world, has this on their "concentrated" laundry detergent which we paid $40 for

SunBright Laundry superclean

Water,
Tiethanolamine Dodecyl Benzene Sulfonate,
Sodium Methyl 2-Sulfonate,
Ethanol Denatured 95%,
Cocamide DEA,
Citric Acid,
Nonylphenol Ethoxylate,
Propylene Glycol,
Butyl Ether,
Fragrance,
Sodium Citrate,
Octoxynol-9,
Benzoin Extract,
Lemon Grass Extract,
Lemon Grass Oil,
Tea Tree Oil,
Disodium Distyrylbiphenyl Derivative,
Protease Enzyme

End of ingredients list

Now, take "fragrance" alone, and it alone (1 ingredient) can be anywhere from 100 or more chemicals. Sometimes getting as high as 1000 or more) That doesn't include the 2 types of alkylamines present there (cocamide DEA and the Triethanolamine ..etc...) I have this empty bottle sitting in here while I type, rinsed out, no product left in it and if I don't get rid of it and put it back in my "place" where I store these things, I will get a headache soon. But that is the fragrance at work. Fragrance alone can cause contact dermatitis while airborne. No wonder as it contains so many chemicals in itself. Something to think about.

Another thing to point out is the "natural" or in this case herbal ingredients that are near the end of the ingredient listing. That shows us that those ingredients are the minor ones while the chemicals play the big role. The main constituents in this formula are petro-chemicals. If someone from Melaleuca is using products that list similar to this one; sure they work and are concentrated. But is it worth your long term health ??

I just wanted to say that for those of you who are skeptics out there, there are chemicals in these products.......melaleuca claims to use the best of science and nature, however the chemicals they are using are safe, they have different chemical compositions than the ones used in every day products you buy elsewhere. So for those of you saying that Melaleuca isn't saying the truth, why don't you call the product info line and find out the real truth. Mela is exactly what they say they are. Why would so many people have such wonderful results if it was lies. Take the chemical names you have and call the company and they will tell you the composition of that chemical and then you'll see there is no danger. Do you think a company could stay in business for 20 years and have growth for 20 years if they were lying. I'm so annoyed of people making false claims on Melaleuca withought knowing the truth. Please before saying that what melaleuca is saying is lies take the chemical name and call melaleuca with it, they will show you that the composition they are using is a safe one. Also just so people know....there are some pretty dangerous natural things out there too!!!! Just because a company is saying it uses 100% natural products doesn't make it any safer for you, what composition of the natural product are they using, how much do they put in the products, these are the questions people should ask. Anyways, I'm more than happy to help anyone who wants to know more. Give me a chemical name and I will call melaleuca to know the truth, I don't want to be scammed or scamming others either!!! I want the truth just as everyone else does, and so far every false claim people have made to me I've responded to with a clear answer from melaleuca. The truth is a phone call away. All you have to do is ask and you'll get an answer stait from melaleuca.

Some interesting facts:

For instance, when you use another brand cleaner, say furniture polish or floor cleaner, they can have a half-life of up to two weeks. That means there is a chemical residue still in your house, that you are inhaling and getting onto your skin. Don't forget about children chewing on the coffee table or crawling on that nice clean chemically treated floor. That goes into their system. Our skin is our biggest organ. It takes less than 20 seconds for a chemical to enter your cell through your skin, 14 minutes into your brain, from bad shampoo, and 28 minutes into your other organs; say from having something on your hands. Melaleuca's half-life is less than 6 seconds!

Also, when you go into the soap isle of the store; smell all that fragrance? That is called out-gassing and that is bad for you. It is more concentrated in your own homes. I no longer have to subject myself by going down that isle, while holding my breath! What a relief for asthma sufferers!

If someone would ask me what my favorite product is, I could not just say one...MelaPower, lip balm, Renew, and the list goes on to include their nutritioal supplements. I noticed a change in the way I feel before the first bottle was used up!

If you have questions about this company that cares about your wellness, feel free to e-mail me at rondee@voyager.net. I would love to help you. Denise

Wow, lots of passionate input on this thread!
I've never run into these cleaning products, but I do try to minimize the amount of nasty cleaners I use. A really surprising amount of stuff can be wiped off with hot water and a clean rag... and sometimes baking soda as an abrasive. I'm a biologist, and I don't think it's healthy to *sterilize* your living space. Clean, yes. Decontaminate with anibacterial cleaners? No. I live in an apartment, not a hospital, and thankfully I don't have a compromised immune system.
I don't think I could order Melaleuca stuff because 1) I have insane allergies and I don't buy anything (certainly anything like vitamins) without checking every darned thing on the ingerdients list at least twice, and 2) I am super picky about smells and fragrances. Plus the idea of a monthly minimum purchase kinda bugs me on principle.
I know I could probably call people and get full ingredient lists and samples and all, but if I was that motivated and organized, I wouldn't be in such desperate need of AT.

I used to be a distributor for melaleuca products and thought I'd purchased enough product to last until the Rapture. Au contrare. I used my supply of product in no time at all and started buying from my next door neighbor just those products I liked the best. Now I live in another state and want to purchase Melaleuca products and had no idea where to find a distributor. YaY! for this site. I had to drive to Fresno to borrow my daughters' computer to see all this information. I am a thin skinned old lady and Melaleuca products have never bothered my skin. I had three cats that walked all over where I had just cleaned and they were never bothered by residue. I'm sorry, but that does seem to qualify as animal testing. Now I only need a few products and since it's just me I don't need enough to qualify for the minimum amout to maintain the points per month. I am delighted that there are distributors to be found in this state and I will be a happy customer.

Both do a wonderful job of cleaning my 'very white' bathroom floors very well. I can actually clean without having to stop to get 'fresh air' from fumes. Great stuff. I am also trying to start a part-time business. My favorites are the Mela-gel & Renew Intensive Skin therapy. I have very dry hands & usually suffer with dermititis, but using this has reduced it significantly & is no longer "itchy". My father also suffers psorisis on his elbows, it started to clear up just after using the renew for a couple of days...Excellent products. Great for the enviroment. I'm also wanting to start a part-time business. I have been a Melaleuca customer for 18 months and have been extremely happy with the products. I thought I was healthy before starting to use the products, but after taking the Vitality Pack, I noticed no more of the regular cramps in my feet that I had been experiencing. The Estraval has completely removed the symptoms of menopause and I now have loads of energy.

Since my husband has been taking the Daily for Life his cholesterol levels have dropped significantly (6.8 to 4.2). Not only that neither of us has had any colds or flu in the last 18 months.

Besides the vitamins we love the cleaning products and the favourite of all the family is the Renew cream.

The customer service we receive is exceptional - only once have we received an incorrect order which was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

After using the products for this length of time, I am now starting my home based business and would welcome new customers who also wish to try the products. If you would like to set-up a trial account, please contact me soon, as the normal account set-up fee has been waived in Australia until 15th May.

Melaleuca Rocks!!! My daugter has eczema and since using the Renew lotion and the tea tree oil it has all disappeared. We all have dry skin but since switching our entire laundry system to Melaleuca and using the Renew we are super soft. My son also has had chronic asthma since he was four months old, I wonder why?? I never knew how "extremely poisonious" household cleaners and other personal care products were until I was introduced to Melaleuca and started doing the research myself and it's all there, it's true! Once I fell in love with the products and saw how easy it was just talking to people and telling them about the products I started referring people in my spare time. I enjoy reading these post's. I like the idea of sharing our thought's on ONE particular company. I find the Melaleuca mission to be impressive, "To enhance the lives of those we touch." This company has helped so many to overcome various health concerns and help them to start living healthier lives again. This company will continue to be in the mainstream for many years to come. It continues to get stronger with each passing year. It really is of no concern when someone chooses to point out the negatives because Melaleuca chooses to stay focused on the positives. This company is focused on the health of families and the environment in which these families live, inside and outside. I do not think you will find a more reputable company whose main focus is on helping people. And if you choose to refer others to the preferred program you are rewarded. It takes an educated person to make an educated decision.
All of these products are of exceptional quality and have helped our family in so many different ways. One being allergies....are gone. Most allergies begin in the home, remove the cause and you may find you are able to handle the outdoors better as well. We all have.
Good Luck to all who are partaking in this wonderful company. These products ROCK!!!!!

Hi! I also recently joined Mela, and I have found the products I will use for the rest of my days!! I have shared the wonderful products with my family and loved ones and they too are now believers.
My little girl and I have asthma, for her the past 5 years of her life has been like breathing through a straw. When I was introduced to Mela, and told of all the positive stories about Asthma, I thought what could it hurt.... so I joined, with the slight disapproval of my husband, figuring this was another, Amway, Tupperware, Avon etc type buisness. When I told him all I was doing was changing where we were shopping, he wanted to wait and see before he believed. Now, he believes and he has said on a daily basis how glad he is we took a chance for Sophies sake! Our little girl is on her way to breathing better, living better and seeing herself just like everyone else! Able to enjoy life without her nebulizer and inhalers inches away! IF YOU HAVE ANYONE YOU LOVE WHO SUFFERS SO WITH THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE, PLEASE INFORM THEM OF MELA AND THE WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY THAT AWAITS THEM BY JUST CHANGING WHERE THEY SHOP! (Also, we are a family of 5, so a budget is important to us to keep me staying at home with our children. With Mela, it is less expensive to shop with them, then to go to Walmart and purchase your daily cleaning, personal and hygene products. This too was VERY important to us!)
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MELA, YOU TOO ARE ABLE TO ENJOY THE BENIFITS OF HEALTHIER LIVING AND CLEANING! PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR MORE INFORMATION!

Hi all!
What a wonderful site!
It's empowering to read so many positive posts about how Melaleuca is changing lives!

I live in Japan and have been using Melaleuca here for two years! I LOVE the difference that Melaleuca's products have made in our home!

Our house is quite old and my 5 year old son used to get bronchial coughs from all the dust in summer and humidity to boot. Now, with Melaleuca making a difference, his cough has gone altogether!

My wife is a nurse and usually is very cautious about such companies like Melaleuca (for those of you that don't know, Japan is FULL of wellness wannabe's!), but now she loves Melaleuca too! It took me over a year to convince and show her the difference Melaleuca makes! How's that for skepticism?! lol

Anyway, I wanted to say, if you are coming to Japan and need Melaleuca products, I'd be glad to help you out, either by signing you up here or ordering for you at PC price! I have several forces personnel that order from me as well as other foreigners!
(Prices are a little more expensive in Japan, but goes with the cost of living here so balances out well).

Melaleuca WORKS and is the ONLY thing we'll use forever! I hope you will too, then you'll SEE and FEEL the difference that their products really DO make!

PS) If you're already a member and living in Japan, I'd love to hook-up with you so we can share ideas and stories!

I've been with Mela several years. I had a 'recipe' to clean carpets that worked great but can't find the ingredients or the old bottle I mixed it in. Can anyone help or is there another site for 'recipes'.

posted by Kathy Correll on 2006-05-31 16:16:49

Hi Kathy,
The RM Barry Wellness guide offers the following 'recipe' for carpet cleaning:
Half-cup Melapower, quarter cup MelaMagic, 2 capfuls Sol-U-Mel in 3 gallons of water.
Or, add one capful Sol-U-Mel and one capful Tough & Tender to the water in the tray of a carpet cleaner (50% less in softwater areas).

I found Melaleuca after looking for environmentally friendly products and haven't looked back. I love the products, I love the ethos, I love the community, but best of all (and worth saying twice) I love the products. I am constantly surprised at just how well they work - I was expecting to be always 'forgiving' them (like "well, what can you expect, it has no strong chemicals in it") but they are just amazing. Why did we ever use chemicals when natural stuff is this good?

And finally, since everyone is plugging their own little Melaleuca organisation, I figured "when in Rome"! If anyone has surfed on in from the UK and thinks this is for America only, think again! We have it, and it's great! If you'd like to help spread the word, or just buy for yourself (you don't have to start a business) then drop me an e-mail to claire@spiteri.free-online.co.uk and I'd be glad to talk you through some of the benefits. No pressure - I'm really not into all that pushy sales rubbish.
Thanks for listening (or rather, reading).

I am a member of Melaleuca as well. I was blessed enough to have a friend have as much concern for my preemie baby as I did. He was born premature with lung issues (Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Apnea) and had to be in the NICU for awhile after birth. At about 2 months of age, he contracted RSV which is fatal to many infants every year. It attacks their lungs. Many infants or children who get RSV end up with asthma. My baby is no exception to that rule. After the bout of RSV, he got the most severe form of asthma there is. He doesn't have one or two triggers, he ahs them all. Strong emotions, scents, cats, dust, dander, mold, tree pollens, even the chlorine in the water! He not only couldn't drink the water, but couldn't bathe in it either! We've gone through multiple prescriptions, as well as got rid of all chemical cleaning products because the American Lung Association stated even storing chemical products in the home is harmful. I was having to clean everything with boiling water, which is extremely hard with just one child, but I have four! To make a long testimony short, my friend dropped off a box of Melaleuca products for me free of charge. Just because she felt so bad for the baby. After seeing the amazing products, and trying the lotion on my baby's severe eczema (which wasn't cleared by prescriptions or anything else we tried), which cleared up in just an HOUR after using it.....I begged her to help me sign up. My baby's skin not only looks normal now, but he went from having asthma attacks 3 times a day, to almost none at all. He's had maybe one attack in the last three weeks. It's just amazing. I am so grateful and truly, if anyone in the Springfield Oregon area wants to join in, let me know!!! My lil man is a HUGE testimony!!!

I am new to the Melaleuca world, but I already LOVE the products. I have asthma & allergies, and things were getting worse. I started out with the vitamin & mineral pack and dishwasher detergent, and laundry pack, and within 3 weeks I noticed I wasn't using my inhaler anymore, I went for my 2nd asthma test and had better results, even with the histamine they administer to challenge the body. My husband noticed I wasn't all stuffy, and miserable even after doing yard work most of the afternoon, that convinced him to start taking the vitamins as well. I love the cleaning products, I'm a massage therapist and I hate to use harsh chemicals on my table, and face cradle there clients have to put their face. Melaleuca has improved my world. I am in western Massachusetts if anyone is interested in these products please email me, I'll gladly answer questions and help you get started with the products if you choose to do so. Hi. I am brand new to Melaleuca, but I have fallen in love with the products and the company. I have six children and am a homeschooling, stay-at-home mom on an extremely limited budget. What appealed to me about the Melaleuca business is that it can be done completely at home so even moms with young children can be involved. My heart and passion is that moms can stay at home with their children. There's no running around to attend meetings, which saves precious time as well as money on today's costly fuel bills. No expensive start-up costs ($29 buys you a preferred customer membership allowing you to purchase the products at 30-40% discounted prices, as well as the business kit. The broad product line has something to appeal to everyone. The products contribute to good health because they are non-toxic and natural. They are also very reasonably priced.

I am involved with a Christian based team which sells melaleuca products. If you have any questions that I could help answer or if you are interested in becoming a customer or business builder with melaleuca, I would be glad to help. Everything can be handled over the phone. (Another great thing I love about this business is that you don't have to stock the products, handle the money or ship/deliver them. That's handled through the company saving us the time, hassle, and expense).

I used Melaleuca products many years ago and liked them quite a bit...and then I began to become educated on ingredients that are harmful in our cleaning and body care products. Melaleua was chocked full of them. Not sure how much the recipes have changed but if they truly wanted to be a healthful company, why not change the recipes so the products do not contain the bad ingredients? I use all products now that are truly natural and safe. What really concerns me is that Melaleuca doesn't have available the full ingredients lists for each product on their website. That almost always only happens if a company does not want you to know everything they put in because they know some thing are bad. I emailed to ask for a full ingredients lists and we'll see if i get a response and also what the list contains. I wish the company would put profits lower on their list of importance and focus on health more.

The products have been known to be effective and useful. In addition, they are clean smelling. I was a teacher and could not use bleach and lysol in my classroon due to the students' allergies, but I was able to use melaleuca 'tough and tender' it smelled great, killed the germs, and was safe for my students- You will love it!!!!

Hi All: I was recently introduced to Melaleuca and it's just was I was looking for. I am always looking for products that are natural and safe for my family and to the environment, but am never really sure of how safe the products on the market really are. I am totally convinced that Melaleuca is the answer. Before Melaleuca, I would never have tried spraying on my skin (as an insect repellant) a product designed for household cleaning. My house not only smells clean temporarily, it feels clean constantly. My son has dealt with allergies and asthma for 12 years, and I am comfortable with him using the products.

For anyone that is interested in more information on becoming a preferred customer or business builder, please feel free to contact me at pwills@numail.org. I am a part of a great team in the metro Atlanta area that is ready to assist you with building a lucrative business and providing product information.

longer I use the Mela Power. Even my husband is complaining. There are so many good reviews about the laundry products. What are you doing that I might not be doing to get your clothes so clean. Someone please respond. I have 2 tops that I have been unable to get tomato stain out of. What do you use on that. I put on pre spot & also slo u mel in water and it still did not come out. HELP!!!

My family converted our household to Melaleuca products over two months ago. I have three small boys: twins that will be 3 in November and a 15 month old. All 3 of my boys, especially the twins, have severe eczema and have started to show early signs of asthma. They have been on all sorts of creams, lotions, and medicines. Nothing has worked to any measureable degree, until we switched stores. The eczema spots on their skin are almost complete cleared up. I can't say enough good things about this product. Now I can't help but tell people about what the products have done for our family and now what the business is doing for our finances. I am in Arlington, Texas and I would be happy to help anyone throughout the U.S. become a customer and/or a business builder with Melaleuca. Their products are always 100% satisfaction guaranteed. From the desk of: Mr.David Young
Royal Bank of Scotland.
18 Ellon Road,
Bridge of Don
Aberdeen

E-mail: mrdavid_young@yahoo.com.au

Dear friend,

Firstly, I apologize for breaking into your privacy, however I have decided to contact you through this medium due to the urgency of this proposed business transaction. It is with my profound dignity that I write you this very important and highly confidential letter. I must first solicit your strictest confidentiality in this transaction. This is because the most important requirement for the success of this business is complete and total confidentiality. Though I know that a transaction of this magnitude will make any one apprehensive and worried, considering the fact that we have not met each other before, but I am assuring you that all will be well at the end of the day.

My name is Mr.David Young, Head of Securities, Royal Bank of Scotland, Aberdeen. On February 17,2002, a foreign consultant/contractor with the sea Brown and Boveri Ltd, Mr. Enrique Salcedo, made a numbered time (fixed) Deposit for twelve calendar months, valued at 28,000,000.00, (Twenty-Eight Million Pounds Sterling) in my branch.

Upon maturity, we sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. After a month, we sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers, Asea Brown and Boveri (the energy giant), that Mr. Salcedo died from an automobile accident. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL, and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless. I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr. Salcedo did not declare any next of kin or relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in our Bank.Due to the funds being temporarily unclaimable, the funds have being moved out of our bank ( as sundry funds )to an offshore Deposit Company/Bank here in the UK.

From past experiences, I know that no one will ever come forward to claim the deceased funds. According to the United Kingdom/Scottish laws, at the expiration of 5 (five) years, the funds will be Unclaimable and revert to the ownership of the Scottish Government if nobody applies to claim the fund. In order to avert this negative development, I in conjunction with a colleague (the Chief Operating Officer in the bank) now seek your permission to allow the attorney do a CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP/REASSIGNMENT OF CREDIT of the stated funds from the "deceased" to your name, so that the funds ( 28 million Pounds) would be released to you as the beneficiary (on behalf of me and my colleague). We are writing you because, as public servants, we cannot operate a foreign account or have an account that is more than 20,000:00 Pounds.

Consequently, you will be presented as the benefactor of the funds in the Deposit Company so you can be able to claim them, after all necessary paperwork has being effected. For us to commence, I will like you to provide the following information immediately;

1. Full names
2. Contact address
3. Telephone and fax numbers

Once I receive these information, I contact an attorney to prepare the necessary documents which will put you in full possession of the funds. The funds will then be released to your custody by the Deposit Company/Bank, for us to share in the ratio of 70% for us and 30% for you. There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by the attorney in a legal way, and this will guarantee the successful execution of this transaction.

Please acknowledge the receipt of this letter by sending your response to my personal email box, and I will bring you into the complete picture of this transaction when I hear from you. No doubt this proposal will make you apprehensive, but we implore you to observe utmost confidentiality and rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because we shall require your assistance to invest our share in your country (Real estate and any other ideas you may have), this is why your urgent action and response is of great essence which will enable us conclude this transaction in a timely and professional manner.

I await your swift response hoping you accept my proposal, as time is of equal essence in this project as well as is confidentiality. Your confidentiality is highly required since I am still in active service.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Respectfully yours,
Mr.David Young

In my opinion and experience a company that is selling healthy products ,are very happy and quick to prove that by listing the ingredients. At present there is a big question mark before me.

The fact need to be laid on the table.Could someone kindly help me out here?

I have been a Melaleuca customer and representative for six years. Not only have I helped many people on my team make money (It can be a great business), but I have reduced my cholesterol by over 100 points, cut my triglycerides drastically, and have enhanced the health of my entire family. I can relay countless stories of people who have had positive results from using these products (weightloss, fibramyalia, allergies, asthma, MS, ADHD...). I teach people that by simply using the right dietary supplements and replacing the harmful, toxic cleaning products in their homes, they can live safer, healthier lives. It is great to be involved with a company that truly cares. If anyone wants more information on any of our products, or how to become a representative, please contact me at homebizdreamteam@aol.com

I use products from all their 5 lines and especially love the cleaning products...they have a new site where u can find out more specifics on the cleaners. It's www.saferforyourhome.com . You get a money back guarantee (60days) so it's really no risk to try them. Using their products for health and home, we as a family have gotten off 3 medications (including my boys ADHD meds)!! and no longer have probs w/ allergies, asthma, ADHD, fatigue, etc...we are so glad we found these products. I am also now a Melaleuca rep since I can truly believe in their products. You can order directly fr Melaleuca but will have to pay the retail price which to be honest is quite costly...if you sign up through a rep. , you get 40% off retail price so it is worth it. They have shareholders to look out for, Melaleuca is a private company.

Wow Everyone's comments are great. I too have been a user for several years. It was my doctor who suggested I start taking the vitamins. Of course the untrusting fool I am did not do them "Because they dont work---ya ya ya" I started with the cleaning products. My younges at the time was around 18mos and could figure out the child locks. Could even untie the knots I strung around the cabnet under the sink (where we all keep the cleaners). After several years of trying to prove them wrong--ha--I decided that the vitamins must work since everything else does. Yea Yea -- I'm a complete believer. I have not started sharing with people. I like to see a difference in others lives like it has made in mine. No matter if I ever refer another customer to Melaleuca I will always be a faithful product user. If anyone is in the Weatherford/Mineral Wells/Ft Worth Tx area, I will glad to share info with them. I have a web site you contact me thru http://spotts.myteamsite.com
I am looking for customers to refer--No pressure to build a business--I feel after you experience these products you - yourself- can decide if telling others is right for you. Well put, Connie. Before buying a product surely the customer has a right to know what ALL the ingredients are? Especially from a company touting its products as safe and environmentally friendly. Come on, Melaleuca, many people want this information. It should be clearly listed in the product brochure and the company website. I've been with Melaleuca for 2 years. My daughter too suffered from asthma (she'd have an attack walking through the detergent aisles in grocery stores!) and I had to help her! Since I've switched to Mela - she has not used her inhalers nor have I had to drive her to ER for any attacks. This stuff really works! There is NO ONE more skeptical than me! She hasnt had an attack of psoriasis or eczema since using the Renew and I will NEVER go back to any other product. It's cheaper to use, it's smells wonderfully fresh AND I'm doing my part to save the environment - how can that be wrong? The company is 20 years old and still growing. I have helped people who were diabetic get off insulin and lead a normal life, I have also helped many people with joint and back problems - go jogging again without MEDS - if any one needs a Rep. in Canada - please contact me - I would be more than happy to share my stories with you! Kudos to all of you who are Mela users, not only helping your families and loved ones but helping save whats left of our environment too!

We have been Melaleuca customers for nearly 3 months now and since I started using the Renew cream on my son's eczema it has completely cleared up - it only took 5 days for the symptoms to disappear. He no longer uses his ventolin inhaler and I have been able to give my cleaning company notice as I no longer need them to clean my bathrooms and kitchen! Previously I would have an asthma attack within minutes of attempting to clean either area but now I am free of my inhaler too! Not only am I saving lots of money by not paying a cleaner but am also saving money on these wonderful cleaning products. The Daily for Life Vitamins give me an extra 3 hours of 'GO' in my day and for that I am extremely grateful! My husband was quite sceptical at first but he too is now a convert and loves to clean the kitchen at night with Tough and Tender. Melaleuca has changed the life of everyone in my family for the better and I love sharing this with my friends and collegues - many of whom are now Melaleuca customers too. All we have done is essentially switch shops when it comes to purchasing cleaning and body care products - if you had a choice of two isles in a supermarket where one contained the normal products you find there and another contained those from Melaleuca which are non-toxic, contain no harsh chemicals and are safe for both you and the environment, WHICH ISLE WOULD YOU CHOOSE? If anyone in AUCKLAND NZ is interested in trying these products which all come with a 90 day, empty bottle, 100% money back guarantee, please feel free to contact me on healthierhomes@gmail.com

I am a Canadian customer/marketing exec with Melaleuca - joined in Feb 2005. I have never been more happy to convert my home over and have the best products in my home with four young children running around.

Like some, I was skeptical and really did alot of research into Melaleuca before I became a customer. They have a fantastic record with the BBB and simply have the best products on the market - safe, non-toxic, effective and reasonably cost.

Its 100% guaranteed, so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by switching your store over and trying out their wonderful product line. www.melaleuca.com and www.saferforyourhome.com are two websites to check out and you don't need to have someone let you in as mentioned in an above post.

Also, they have product manuals that list in detail the science behind why their products work along with detailed specifics of ingredients and instruction on use. I have one and share, with any customers that I have referred, any specific product question they may have. If I don't know, or can't find it in there, I call Melaleuca directly and they are helpful and willing to answer any question.

Hope this helps some of you. Please try Melaleuca's products, I promise you won't be disappointed!! kborgfjord@mts.net

I would be happy to answer any questions about any of the above or any products I have used if you email me. amybrinkmeier@aol.com Our family is in the midwest and we are always looking for others to be great customers along with us!

Hello,

I am a Melaleuca Preferred Customer in Stamford, Connecticut. I love these products, they make it so much easier to clean my house! I use Renew on my reflexology clients feet and everyone loves it. The money I save on cleaning products and vitamins helps me to buy some luxury items that I couldn't afford before, like the Nicole Miller serum "Timeless" which my skin just loves.

If anyone is interested in purchasing product, or becoming a Preferred Customer, or just has questions please feel free to contact me at: Lizoertel@earthlink.net

I became aware of Melaleuca when I became fed up using sprays/cleaners that took my breath away, and was looking for alternatives! I was extremely sceptical of the company .... once bitten, twice shy! I undertook extensive research, and the more I found out, the more impressive it became and the more sceptical I grew. However, I was truly fed up with my existing products, and due to the 100% money back if I was not happy (which is unheard of with supermarket/store products etc), I decided to give it a go. In short, I was amazed! There are so many good things I could say about most of the products that time and space would not allow. Now, 2.5 years down the line, I feel guilty that I am keeping this to myself - so nerves or not, I have decided to speak to others, so that they can open a trial account also (money-back guaranteed) and find out for themselves. What is true for me is not true for anyone else until they have found out for themselves, risk-free. If I can be of any further help to anyone, please do contact me! Thank you for reading.

Great resource to see how toxic products are is to do a search on http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com. Could not find any reviews for products made by the Melaleuca company.

Also noted on http://www.safecosmetics.org/index.cfm FAQ:

--
Q: I don’t see Arbonne, Avon, Mary Kay, Melaleuca or other similar companies listed on your website, even though they claim to be “safe,” “natural” or donate money to breast cancer research. What’s the deal?

A: Arbonne, Avon, Mary Kay and Melaleuca are aware of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics but have refused to sign it. If they are truly supporting women’s health, and if they are making “safe” products it shouldn’t be too hard for them to sign the Compact. More than 600 companies have signed the Compact, a commitment to manufacture personal care products free of known and suspected toxic chemicals.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics does not endorse or hand-pick “safe” companies to refer customers to. The growing list of safer companies on our Web site is comprised solely of companies that have signed the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. If you don’t see a company on the list, we encourage you to send a letter letting them know about the Compact, and urging them to sign it.

Melaleuca products ROCK! Not looking to make a sale here - just want to encourage anyone who is thinking about switching toxins for safer alternatives - Melaleuca's products are safer, more effective, and more economical.

Their supplements work. Plain and simple. My husband has not had a cold in almost 4 years. He does not have to take high blood pressure or cholesterol meds any more, and for the first time ever, he got a preferred rate on his new insurance policy. My son rarely battles eczema, chronic sinus congestion, headaches or fuzzy brain. My skin no longer drives me crazy with itchiness, and I do not have to wear gloves or a gas mask to clean. While I can not tell you what is in every product, I don't care. The proof is in our bodies. We feel great and love these products. I encourage you to give them a try - you have absolutely nothing to lose.

One satisfied customer!

I haven't read this entire thread, as it's way too long, but I do want to say to those who said that the animal testing for Melaleuca's heart health product wasn't all that "beneficial" to the animals tested, as they verified the results by euthanizing the animals and performing an autopsy. If that's how a product is "beneficial" please spare me the benefits. For the record, I am a loyal Melaleuca customer, but I've been very disturbed by what I've learned regarding this incidence of animal testing.

Greetings from a Midwest Farmer's Wife & Mother,

We have been happy Mela-what? customers since 1991. After suffering for years with all kinds of allergies, eczema, fragrance and chemical sensitivities along with continually having strep throat, I was absolutely thrilled to find this company and their unique products.

Of course I was very skeptical at first, since I had tried many, many times in desperation to find products that I could use to wash my dishes, clean my bathrooms, cleanse my face and clothes, and even take a bath without having to worry about allergic reactions and ultimately having to spend $200 or more at my local dermatologist (his nurse recognized my panic-stricken voice on the phone for years - not anymore!)

But the nice gentlemen who took the time to explain how the company and products worked, told me there was a 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee and that if I had any problems with ANY of the products or even my customer membership fee, I could return everything within 60 days and get my money back! That's a much better offer than my local grocery store or discount store and especially my doctor had ever offered me, so I thought, "What have I got to lose? What if what this guy is telling me is really true? What kind of a life would I have without all these allergies and sensitivities?"

I'll tell you what kind of life I've had for all these years. In a nutshell, my doctor told me during my last physical a couple of months ago, that if all his patients were as healthy as me, he'd go out of business! You know why...because I haven't taken a perscription antibiotic or had to use any prescribed dermatological skin creams for allergies since 1991...Oh, I've had a few colds and even gotten the flu a couple of times, but NO strep throat or any other disease requiring antibiotics for me.

Just think of all the money I've saved during these years by not having to go to the doctor all the time and buy those expensive antibiotics - it's more than enough to offset any cost of my products. Products that I was already buying at the grocery store or discount store anyway - talk about a Win/Win for my family; I cannot say enough about what this company and their exceptional products have done for me.

If you would like to hear more, don't hesitate to email me at: DebLindley@SaferForYourHome.com

I have been using Melaleuca products since December 2007 and love, love, love everything! I can't say enough about how much better our family feels from using these wonderful products.

My 6 year old is getting into the cleaning along with me! She recoginizes products she should not touch. She is even asking people if they've heard of Melaleuca yet? (Usually their answer is no) "Then she says you should talk to my mom!"

I'm going to talk to the Kindergarten teacher next (she has 3 kids of her own!)

I too love the products! My daughter had bleeding exema. Melaleuca worked when perscriptions didn't! On a routine visit to her pedatrician she noticed how well her skin felt & looked. I told her I was using Melaleuca she told me "keep using it!" I have been able to control my acid reflux better with Melaleuca's Florify than with Nexium ("the purple pill"). My coworker had very sensitve scalp she got a perscription shampoo from her DR -didn't work. What did work? Melaleuca Original Shampoo and it's cheeper than a perscription. Only 14.99 for 32 0z!!! Would you like your teeth to feel as if you got a cleaning from your dentist everyday then try Melaleuca tooth polish! I can go on and on.....

As far as the 35pts. I too have a very hard time staying under 80 points. And we don't have stock piles of stuff!

Give Mealeuca a try! Melaleuca is a membership company like Costco & Sams but unlike Costco & Sams Melaleuca membership is only $29. All of thier products have 60 day 100% satisfaction guarantee. Try telling wallmart you didn't like thier Tide or Cascade and see if you get your money back. Heck, Melaleuca will refund your memebership within 120 days if you're not 100% satisfied.

Melaleuca has a great offer going on. New members will receive $100 in free product!

Contact me if you have any questions or would like to become a customer. Or if you would like to supplement your income part/full time working from home. I'm looking for team members who are looking for a business opportunity that is NOT economy driven!

I'm in San Antonio, TX but Melaleuca has made it easy for us to connect with you regardless where you are in the US or Canada.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I've also come to know many people that work for the company and I can vouch that they are a community minded organization doing good things for the local economy and community here in this small-ish town. Melaleuca is like Amway for the quasi-green crowd. My neighbor invited me over for a presentation, and didn't really tell me what it was, and ye gods, it was a horrible hour. The rep gave all kinds of false info (1 in 2 people have cancer, etc.), and the products were pricey - they approach a reasonable price once you rope a bunch of your friends into buying it too, but if you don't feel like pressuring your friends, forget it - EXPENSIVE.

There's nothing magical about melaleuca, people. It is tea tree oil and we use it in Australia as an antiseptic. Buy it is the supermarket. Smells like eucalyptus - which is what most Aussie plants smell like. The thought of that smell as toothpaste makes me want to throw up.

For a more realistic view, check out wikipedia for tea tree oil and melaleuca.

(Sigh) the last post no-one will read.

At one time, I looked into joining Melaleuca since I was told they were "safe" products to use in the home. At the same time, I was also researching a company called Neways, another company with supposedly safer alternatives to the mainstream products we are subjected to on daily basis.

After much reading and research, I didn't join Melaleuca based on some discrepancies in their products. Predominantly, ingredients such as fluoride, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate/Ammonium lauryl sulfate, parabens (Methyl, ethyl, propyl etc) to name a few familiar ones. I feel that a company who proclaims itself to be a "Health and Wellness" company should not be using ingredients which are considered "questionable". Fluoride is a highly controversial subject and in my opinion, considering its source, is an outright toxic substance which has no place in our society.

While Neways was considered a better alternative since they didn't use recognizable petro-chemicals, I personally feel that synthetic ingredients shouldn't be used by consumers considering that anything we put on our skin is absorbed through the skin and then into our bloodstream. One other thing to consider is the fact that of the 80,000 petro-chemicals used in personal care and cleaning products today, very few of them have been properly tested for human safety. Therefore, why are they permitted to enter products and sit on shelves where people presume them to be safe?

My experience when researching Neways introduced me to Dr. Samuel Epstein, an internationally recognized authority on the causes and prevention of cancer. In his book titled, Unreasonable Risk, he lists some 40 chemicals which he lists as "frank carcinogens". Fluoride is amongst the list as quoted on page 33 of his second edition in addition to Diethanolamine (DEA), Formaldehyde, Triethanolamine (TEA) Silica (crystalline), talc, and titanium dioxide to list a few. On page 34 he lists "hidden carcinogens" of which Quaternium 15 and Quaterniums in general are a couple of more familiar chemicals listed.

Of those carcinogens which may cause cancer, many of them according to Epstein, also can cause genetic damage. This is precisely why it is so important, particularly for women, to be aware of the various chemicals in use. It can save much grief if they happen to be pregnant as well. My wife and I have a child who was born with genetic damage which we attribute to her exposure to pesticides and cleaning solutions while pregnant. A few of the "genotoxic carcinogens" Epstein mentions on page 35 are as follows:

"Aflatoxin, Arsenic, 1,4-Dioxane, Ethylene Oxide, Formaldehyde, Lead, Nitrosodiethanolamine....
...Formaldehyde-Releasers: Non-carcinogenic ingredients which break down in the product or on skin to release the 'frank' carcinogen formaldehyde. Even less well recognized 'hidden' carcinogenic ingredients are those in fragrances, scents and perfumes, also present in many household products, for which there are no requirements for any ingredient listing."

I would recommend Epstein as a valuable resource for those who wish to expand their research and arm themselves with the knowledge required to protect one's self and family.

Enter another company called Sunrider into the fray and high priced products. They claimed to be superior to certified organic, although they had no 3rd party organization evaluating their products. I still have the laundry detergent bottle. We ended up dumping it out due to the fragrance contained in the formula. Here is the ingredients list:

Sunrider Sunbright Laundry Superclean -
Water, triethanolamine dodecyl benzene sulfonate, sodium methyl 2- sulfonate, ethanol denatured 95%, cocamide dea, citric acid, nonylphenol ethoxylate, propylene glycol butyl ether, fragrance, sodium citrate, octoxynol-9, benzoin extract, lemon grass extract, lemon grass oil, tea tree oil, disodium distyrylbiphenyl derivative, protease enzyme.

Whew! As anyone can easily observe, the herbal extracts are closer to the bottom of the formula. It looks like chemicals rule this product as well.

I am happy to report however, that I did manage to find a company which is dedicated to 100% natural products devoid of any petro-chemicals and use only certified organic ingredients in their personal care line. It has been two years since I began purchasing from them and am happy with their products. Laundry detergent isn't amongst their current product line so we were purchasing Nature Clean until recently when Costco came out with another alternative liquid laundry detergent called "ECOS". Again, it fails to list the ingredients so I need to phone their customer service line and inquire about the contents. Sometimes, I have run into a few companies which require you to name the specific ingredients/chemicals you wish to avoid and they simply answer with yes or no. Talk about not wishing to divulge any information willingly LOL.

We learned the hard way in some respect. We at one time blindly believed that every product in a health food store was "safe" just because it was in the health food store. Now that I am cognizant of various chemicals, I read many labels in the health food store and am abhorred by what I see in some of the products. In many aspects, it appears as if the companies in question tend to think if they throw a few herbal extracts in with the alkylamine group chemicals, SLS, Propylene glycol and three types of Parabens, they can justify charging the populace $12 per bottle of shampoo. Sure we can think they are only doing it to sell en masse, however, I think they should stick to keeping as green as possible.

What people need is companies dedicated to 100% natural, petro-chemical free products. If we can purchase hair wax or special hair care products from a salon for $30 per bottle containing outright propane as one of their ingredients, we can support the
companies who truly endeavor to supply people with a safe alternative to the mainstream kiss of death.

I hope this helps.

I just need a COUPLE small things, if you are in or near Portland, Oregon or Tucson, AZ please post an email address where I can get a hold of you. I am absolutely NOT interested in selling Melaleuca, but there are just a couple things I would like to buy if that's possible.
Thank you so much!

I had used Melaleuca in the early 90's as a hairdresser I also did nails and feet. I would put a few drops of the Tree Tea Oil in the foot bath. It cleans and stops any infection there may be. The smell was a little strong but I liked what it did.
For those of you that do not know Tea Tree Oil is from the Tea Tree plant in Australia it was used to fight infection before penicillin.
I recently saw a box being delivered to a neighbor and was surprised i was still in business. Then I answered an ad to work at home Mom's.
Then I get told they test on animals. etc. So I have been searching the net for more information. The question I ask my self "How do I feel about testing on animals"?
I know that I would not be here today if it were not for the testing. I know now that there is less animal testing because the use of computers has made it easier to know if something is ok.
I am not going to sign up ( calm down) I will buy as I need to.
And for those of you all up in arms over testing . If you had severe health problems or your child I know you would not hesitate to use these products. Until you walk in a patients shoes keep your lips together .

Hello Hello!
My husband Harry and I adore Melaleuca products and I also enjoy introducing family, friends and strangers to Melaleuca.
What a compelling issue when it comes to sacrificing any living being to the good of the whole when it comes to animal testing.
Honestly I am just now getting info on possible animal testing by the company and so have requested from them directly validation either way with explanations. I believe that as a whole this is a wonderful company with wonderful products that have enhanced mine & my families life.
And I know that myself like others with serious health issues have benefited one way or another at the expense of the life given (or taken) for the sake of science & humanity.
I just hope that we all come to a point in life were no more loses happen for us to have gains.
Yours in Creating a Better Life.
