Normann Dustpan and Brush

08.20.normann.jpg

We're dying to try cleaning up with this Normann Dustpan and Brush we originally spotted at Fitzsu, but we found today at aktuella.net and The MUT. The thin edge of the dustpan makes it look like sweeping would be a breeze. There's nothing we hate more than that final line of dust that is left behind repetitively by a too-thick dustpan edge...

The beautiful design is by Normann Copenhagen - Ole Jensen. The pan is made of a bent sheet of polypropylene and the brush of beech wood with natural Chinese pig bristles. A hole in the dustpan allows the two pieces to fit together and hang on a wall. This finely crafted set suprised us with its $25 price tag.

Are "pig bristles" green?

The designer is Ole Jensen. It goes well with the washing bowl and dish brush that he designed.
MoMA used to sell both of these in its stores. And they use Jensen's washing bowl in its cafe. It would be interesting to know if they actually use this dust pan or not....

I have this & love it. Only thing ... don't get it wet. Smells worse than an old, wet dog.
