Description: "As a 44 year old Superman fan, I've built up a massive collection of Superman action figures, over 170 different figures of the Man of Steel (including one from the 1940s so rare, only three are known to exist), not counting the hundred or so figures of Superman villains and the rest of the so-called "Superman family."...

Wow your collection is great! My husband would be so jealous!

That's Super, Man! I totally admire those who are so passionate about their collections.
May I ask, why Superman? I love to hear the reasons behind what attracts people to certain objects and why they start to build a collection in the first place.

from Karl H. To decor8Holly,
I've always been a fan of the character (my sense of right and wrong comes more from Superman than anything), but about ten years ago, I started displaying the figures together on a shelf and just loved the effect of many different variations on the same image side-by-side.
Dusting them is a pain in the butt, however.

Ha ... I thought the same thing, Karl. I totally feel for you. I have a whole wall of all the Simpsons characters (over 100) in my home office and I absolutely despise dusting them. Especially as most of them have little tiny accessories that fall all over everywhere when I dust. I never did figure out what happened to Sunday Best Marge's bible after dusting a few times ago!
P.S. As I'm originally from Cleveland, I've always had a soft spot for the Man of Steel too!

"...and my girlfriend's Star Trek figures." See, there really is someone for everyone... how sweet! Everything looks amazing on that red wall.
Now if I can just figure out how to best fit hubby's X-Men #1 litho into my quasi-regency-traditional decor...

Just knowing this exists someplace in Jersey City makes me feel better about living there!
