ColorTherapy: Fine Paints of Europe H00740

Name: H00740
Brand: Fine Paints of Europe

Youll never know the ordeal we went through trying to pick the color for this accent wall. It was to be something interesting: not too plain, not to bright, not too distracting, not too pale, &c. We used the palette of the carpet as a point of departure. Also, this wall sits in the middle of a big loft, so you see it from every place you sitthis wall had to match everything. I thought we had the perfect color.

And now Im made to understand it was painted over within days of my departure. Carmen, how could you??

Once again, these Fine Paints of Europe are wonderful to work with and come in some of the richest colors imaginable. Look how delicious that wall is against the white sofa. This color comes off of a red page in a fan deck and feels paprika, burgundy, brown and ruby all at the same time. Perhaps these saturated colors wont thrill everybody equally. As my mother always said, theres no accounting for taste.

I realize also that this space feels a bit more austere in my photo than it does in real life, so I added a second photo, to show more of the environment and how the first floor light comes in. Looks like thats good work being done in the background.

Perhaps they painted over because the bright blue in the kitchen gave it an Americana feel?

Ooooh that color IS delicious. I hate that it was painted over and that awful blue got to stay. If that blue were a caramelly neutral that room could possibly be the tastiest thing I've seen in weeks, and I've got a Cinnabon nearby.

Great color but can I offer a suggestion, paint the air returns. They will simply go away and you won't be distracted by them. Great space.

From the photo, it looks a lot like the colour in my front entrance, Donald Kaufman Color Collection 17, which Fine Paints of Europe mixed up for us. Monsieur Guy gave it a final coat today, and it looks...stunning. Our house, by the way, has a late 'sixties vibe to it (and I lust after that very rug!).

The sofa looks like the "Andy" from B&B Italia.

i should have photoshopped that kitchen wall--it's actually chalkboard paint, which means it's really black.
