ColorTherapy: Two Green Breakfast Nooks

Name: Jalepeno Pepper
Brand: Benjamin Moore 2147-30

I’ve been staring at these photos all morning before I finally realized the obvious thing: they’re both green breakfast areas with red tablecloths. As Diana Vreeland said, “Why don’t you…?”

Why don’t you paint your breakfast nook Jalepeno Pepper? File this under “Bold and Daring.” You don’t see red and green like this too often, do you, and the combo has nothing to do with Christmas. I note once again that you don’t need Super White to support a picture hanging.

Why don’t you paper your windowless breakfast nook in green landscape? Here’s an excellent example of how every color can be warm or cool. In our first photo, green is warm and yellow; here, green is cool, almost blue. And here, the complete lack of vitality in an eat-in kitchen is transformed by whimsy and imagination.

And lastly, I’m going to add these two as a set, just because I like the whole group on my computer desktop. We have green grey Indian Rhubarb, which I’ll update in a few weeks, and a punk-gothic green hatcheck in a hair salon. Why don’t you…?
