ColorTherapy: Why Don't You?

...Paint robin's egg accents to complement your wallpaper (pic: Wary Meyers)? I found this image while trolling the internet. Wish I'd thought of it myself. And why don't you glue seashells to your ceiling light?...

I noticed this while daydreaming between courses at Aquagrill. Get it?? Fish house-seashells? I'm always on the lookout for a good truffle crusted cod. Food and service were impeccable.

Why don't you paint the Black Forrest on your Bavarian restaurant? I bike past Rolf's on Third Avenue all the time, though I've never eaten here. That red exterior is worth a column all its own.

Why don't you paint your child's chest of drawers chocolate once they've flown the nest? This was yellow and orange when I was knee-high to a grasshopper, yes, in the 70s. And I think I now like brown and purple more than I like brown and blue.

why don't you... make me fall instantly, madly, head over heels in love with that first photo....

i love the floors, the chairs, the buffet, the chandelier, the glass on the table (and the table itself), the glimpse into the next room with all the art on the wall... muah!

FYI: The top photo is the dining room Wary Meyers, it's their Maine home from what I recall. More gorgeous eye candy here:

I agree totally with the point of this--it would be wonderful if we would all think a little more outside the box. Hang crystals in the kitchen window to catch the sun in the morning and cast rainbows everywhere. Paint something a new color. Just do something unexpected. Not everyone's mind thinks in those directions so AT is a great place to get ideas.

Fantastic- the way that they combined all the different periods so well in the first photo.

If you like the painting outside, you absolutely MUST eat at Rolf's during the Christmas season. You'll see what I mean once you walk in ... it is an incredible experience even if you don't celebrate Christmas.
