Bay Leaf Wreath at Williams Sonoma

11-14-wreath.jpg

A lovely hostess/host gift, this beautiful Bay Leaf Wreath is available only from Williams-Sonoma. The wreath can only be purchased online from December 3 through January 18...

It can be a host gift throughout the holiday season and provide its owner with bay leaves for their cooking throughout the rest of the year. A great gift for yourself too - decorate with it throughout your holiday entertaining and put the bay leaves to use in the kitchen when the decorations come down.

Or you could buy an herb wreath from Stokes (at the Union Square and Tribeca greenmarkets) and support a local business. Plus you get more than bay leaves.

I bought a rosemary and thyme wreath, online, from Stokes Farm in NJ last year and I loved it.

I also bought a rosemary and thyme wreath from a vendor at a craft show in Union Square (it may have also been Stoke Farm) and loved it.

May I join the chorus in saying buy at Union Square. The wreathes I saw last Saturday there were astounding.

Okay, I just looked online at the Stokes wreathes. They look great, and like they might smell really good. So for those of you who have herb wreathes, how did you use yours? Did you hang it in your kitchen? And did you actually use the herbs as they suggest on their website? Just curious.

I hung mine as a wreath and then used it on my table around with a pillar candle in the middle.

And, yes I used the herbs while cooking.

I put the wreath into storage. It will be interesting to see how it looks when I pull out my Xmas stuff.

However you choose to buy one, make sure the leaves are safe for consumption.

Fresh bay leaf provides such great flavor to food it would be a shame not to be able to take advantage of that.

I usually buy one of these. The leaves are definitely safe for consumption--they're delicious.
