Cast Iron Pot by Timo Sarpaneva

Love, love, love it. The Sarpaneva Cast Iron Pot by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala is one of our very favorites...

The rough cast iron exterior sets off the white enameled interior beautifully. And that wooden handle - it can be removed and used to lift the hot lid from the pot. And for a design that dates back to 1960, this iconic, award-winning pot is still truly modern.

I saw this in Helsinki two years ago and had to have it. It wasn't easy bringing it back as a carry-on. Having to explain why I was carrying a heavy pot at AMS/Schipol airport was interesting. That being said, I absolutely love this pot. I just wish I knew it was available here in the U.S. (I got it cheaper in Helsinki though.)
