• Designer: Jason Neufeld

• Location: Brooklyn, NY
• Title: Good Books Shelf
• Materials: American ash, wood stain, linseed based paint
• Price Point: About 20 hrs of work + materials = $625
Description: These shelves use the wall to redistribute weight, allowing a wide span with minimal hardware. Segmented compartments keep the planks from bowing and accommodate oversized art books; the frame functions like book ends. Similar to a built-in book shelf, but one that you can take with you. Thanks!

Wait a minute... Of all the designs in the world Steve Worden and Jason Neufeld both have the same favorite design? REALLY? That's crazy beans!

Love the extra space for art books.

Didn't he cheat in the previous round of Finals? Isn't that why we have to have Semi-Finals again? Why is he still in the race if he cheated the system? I don't care how great his design is - I'm disappointed.

No, it wasn't him who cheated. It was the other guy. These shelves look nice. Let's stop with the vitriol. But would love for this website to address the cheating issue so that the wrong people don't get blamed.

I know "the other guy" and he didn't cheat either. Nobody cheated. Apparently it was someone from outside the competition causing mischief.
But I agree, I wish they would address the issue, so people don't get blamed for things they didn't do.

I hate that my Apartmenttherapy newsletter got kicked into "Junk" so that I missed voting. All the final 3 are excellent but this is going to be a runaway hit, IMHO!

to rosaleen: although $650 might seem pricey, which as an amount of money out in space, it is. but when you break the price down, it comes to $31.25 an hour and that's without factoring in materials. so take into consideration the cost of wood, paint and stain, the price drops to under $26 an hour for labor. just food for thought....
