4 Round Dining Tables — All Under $200
ROUNDup

I just replaced my rectangular dropleaf table with a round table and I love it! Round dining tables make for more intimate seating and help everyone be part of the dinner conservation. Here are 4 cool round table options that are all available for $200 or less.

1 IKEA PS KVARNSTEN 43.25" diameter - $189
2 DOCKSTA from IKEA 41 3/8" diameter - $149
3 Odyssey Dining Table from CB2 39.5" diameter - $199
4 SALMI from IKEA 41 3/8" diameter - $100

I found more options at Overstock.com and Target — but they didn't seem as nice or nearly as cool as the options above. Do you have suggestions for a round table, at least 40" in diameter, for under $200? Share them in the comments.

how about extendable round dining tables? I love the Room and Board collection but at $1600 , I can only dream of them. Any suggestions?

i LOVE that wooden one from Room and Board too! The second we move into a house I want it. I mean, it has a drop leaf- so modern, AND expandable? Perfect. (and beautiful)

For once, I'd love to see one of these lists without an Ikea recommendation.

You can find round tops, unfinished mdf or plywood, from most big hardware stores and places like Pier 1 generally have pre-cut tempered glass. A good solid base can be challenging; large ceramic planter filled with rocks, heavy pedestal from one of those fake plant stores (Hobby Lobby had some), or cardboard tube used for cement pouring. Making something simple from wood, mdf, or galvanized metal works too. Paint the thing, cover it with wallpaper, or mosaic tile.

If you scour antique and vintage stores you can find some great drop leaf round tables.

I love round dining tables. For some reason the only extendable round tables that I like always seem to be super high end/expensive. (For the reason that I have some kind of fetish that the table should stay round and not get oval.)

For a while I really wanted one of these:

Though ultimately went for a mid-century option instead. One like this but with a pedestal base. They are rare but the way they extend is a beautiful thing:

cerry that dyrlund table is fabulous! i too have charged myself with the quest of finding a good extension dining table...been checking the consignment and thrift stores in my hood regularly, they always seem to have the tables but are missing the leaves.

of course i am on a budget (but not as budget as ikea), i checked out the "BJURSTA" which has a hidden leaf, but it was just cheap looking.

Now I'm debating between these... the first one is my favorite, i think.

they're a little more $$ than IKEA but less than room & board or the ever fabulous Kyoto from crate & barrel, carrefour_ny, maybe they'll suit you too:

These all have a similar kind of feel. I guess it's just taken for granted that we're all supposed want the same style dining room...? Any less modern looking options?

If you have no objection to draped tables, most fabric stores have affordable unfinished wood round tables in several sizes. With your style, maybe an asian inspired fabric or a vintage piece of fabric, tapestry etc.
