Encourage Reading at the Table

Our theme this month is Entertaining and I decided to take a very literal approach with table decor incorporating text and typography in the design.

Each project takes a little creativity but is simple to do for even a last minute dinner party. I especially like the placemats with the dictionary definitions. The napkins are paper napkins stamped with rubber stamps and the tablecloth is done with fabric paint.

Another idea is to paint the table top with chalkboard paint, and then write/draw on it. This was shown on an AT post not long ago.

Martha Stewart suggested the photocopied dictionary page years ago and I still use it for wrapping presents displaying the key word prominently: birthday, anniversary, etc.
