Japanese Mobile Dining Room by Nobuhiro Teshima

Impromptu dinner party? Nobuhiro Teshima's cabinet transforms into a long and low table for about 8 guests!

Before you are all up in arms about "where do the chairs go?" — the designer has created this for Japanese homes — the table is low to the ground and diners sit on the floor!

This would make a great game table too — you could store all of your games and puzzles in the cabinet!

I was madly in love with this right up to the part that said "diners sit on the floor." Oh well :(

There are vintage versions of cabinet/table systems like this. The leaves typically are stored inside and the legs project from the body of the cabinet.
