White Trash

(This is the second post from Aaron!)

8-8-white-trash.jpgA small East Village store with limited inventory, White Trash is worth a regular visit to see what's new. By consistently rotating and restocking their vintage wares, the staff keeps the tiny space fresh.

whitetrash04.jpgDominated by Danish furniture and 60's era dishes and cookware (all in great shape), the store's stock usually includes dressers, armchairs, small tables and credenzas.

The furniture outnumbers the eclectic artwork and attic kitsch that must have been the inspiration for the store's name.

I usually stop by on my way home from work and a quick look can show me the "new" Kartell dishes or a reproduction shelving unit. I find the prices to be fair as White Trash has done all the work selecting great pieces.

Nicely done. Good description, and nice job setting the expectation on the price point. If there were any misplaced "it's", I didn't notice.

Good job Aaron!

Not bad (and the grammar shouldn't get JefferyK too riled up . . . ;-) ) but my one criticism is tone -- too many negative modifiers (small/limited/tiny/prices fair/60's, yet in good shape).

This looks like a great store, the pics are good, and I think you are probably more passionate about it that your language would suggest. I am definitely going to check it out.

Bottom line: great AT material, just needs a little more of Maxwell's usual up style. A diamond in the rough -- would love to see how further polishing brings out a gem!!!

I LOVE this place!! Thanks for higlighting it! My only worry is that everyone will now scour it before I get a chance!

This place is great. Nice to see a real store amongst the "mall mentality" and "bigger and more expensive is better" that seems to be taking over even in NY. Affordable and friendly.

Wow! So glad to have stumbled onto this review, and I have to agree...LOVE this place. Great stuff at affordable prices. What more could you want?

I found out about this place through the NY Times and when I went I couldn't believe the reasonable prices and how nice the stuff was. It's rare that I feel I'd actually be able to buy something at most modern shops. What a breath of fresh air.
