When Werblers get together on the holidays, a cluster of scotch glasses is left behind on every horizontal surface. It can be hard to tell which drink belongs to which relative, especially as ice melts and fill levels morph when no one is looking. Thankfully, there are simple ways (beyond the old red lipstick trick) to differentiate between germs.
With good DIY ideas floating around, as well as products made specifically for the purpose of tagging stemware, there's no reason to let unidentified beverages clutter up the kitchen. While alcohol does kill germs, in this season of dangerous influenza, perhaps it is best to be safe rather than sorry. Protect your guests' health and dazzle their eyes with your own creative solutions.

i love #7! so cute and would actually work on my crystal stemware which suffers from severe kankles.

As if the holidays aren't confusing enough, I hear there's a Werbler wedding coming up, too. Lets make our own labels: Beardy, Smelly, Haimy, and Whiney. I'll keep thinking of more.

if you use disposable, try out the solo bare line, and because the cups are like a light kraft color, you could write directly on them with a marker or stamps, etc.
they're a reasonably priced, green product that i personally love. you can see them here:

I bought those Vacu Vin markers at World Market. They are INCREDIBLY cute and I can't wait to use them for a party!
For those of you who are still into the red plastic Solo cups (who isn't??), there is now the "My Solo Cup" on which you can scratch your name. I must admit that these looked pretty cool at the last keg party I attended... http://www.solopromotion.com/my-solo-cup.htm

I really like the options for writing your name on your beverage (#1 and #6).
It seems to me that once you enjoy a few cocktails, it will be hard to remember which suction cup monster is yours! Plus, the hostess knows which drink goes with which guest and doesn't have to remember the "code."
I think I'll try the sticky tab idea at my next party!
