We've added B & J Fabrics to our Shopping Guide because of their remarkable selection of fabrics. B & J has a new website, and they have accrued a few great reviews since we first covered them in 2005. What is this good for?? DIY curtains, tablecloths, upholstering, you name it... Don't just rely on Pottery Barn. Reader reviews are below...
Laurie says: Beautiful selection, excellent prices, in a perfectly lit showroom - with VERY HELPFUL staff. It's a totally diferent vibe. Last time I was there Serena Willams was searching for the perfect fabric.
BellyDanceNY says: Unbelievably beautiful things including iridescent chiffons and paisleyand jewel-tone velvets and reembroidered beaded fabrics and "ethnic" imports. Costs a sultana's ransom.
Yelpers give it 3.5 out of 5 stars and one says "what gorgeous stuff!"

Not an inexpensive store, but you get what you pay for every time -- and their staff are marvelous. They're used to dealing with fashion students, so they don't laugh if you blanche at prices -- and you may wind up deciding the investment is worth all your effort.
Very different from Mendel Fabrics on Hester St., possibly the most hostile shopping environment I've every experienced. I'd gone there because they'd been mentioned so often on "Project Runway" and in Threads magazine. Never again.

Am I blind? I don't see any direct link to the AT Shopping Guide form the main/front page since the new design was started. Where is it?
