Reprodepot rocks! I first learned of them through AT many months ago and have since ordered yards upon yards of the coolest fabric anywhere. Customer service is top-notch, prices are competitive (and sometimes downright low), the selection is wide and eclectic, the quality is superb. They've got me very happily back to my sewing machine after years away from it.

I am OBSESSED with this place and have been shopping there for years. Problem is, I tend to not do anything with the fabric ... I buy a bunch 'cause it's cute, but never make it into a project ;-(

At least, get some frames, stretch some lengths of fabric and mount them on the wall. I also have some great fabric sitting unused. Right now I'm trying to make some patchwork scarves and other little projects so that I see the fabric on a regular basis and don't feel like I wasted money. How about making napkins or pillows? Or try edging some pre-existing things like washcloths or your bedroom pillows?

Or give it to me ;)

Learn to quilt. You'll have no problem finding uses.

I like Repro Depot, but equilter.com is a great resource too and 2% of every sale goes to the charity of your choice.

In theory... and I'm just thinking out loud here... could you buy the fabric, buy some cheap IKEA pillows, and cover them with the fun fabric to use as throw pillows??

What a weird coincidence. A couple of nights ago, I visited ReproDepot for the first time in ages and spent at least two hours going through all their prints and bookmarking my favourites.

ridge_van_winkle, it's really easy to learn to do basic quilting. (I think there's even one of those "Dummies" guides for it.) My grandmother taught me when I was eight or nine, and if a kid can do it, so can you. The log cabin design is a great one for beginners, but if you want to make something even simpler, a simple patchwork of same-sized squares can look beautiful. And non-quilters are always so awed by ANY kind of quilt, you'll definitely impress your friends. Start with a small size, say a wall hanging. If you catch the quilting bug, you can always move on to larger projects.

Don't worry, Ridge-Van-Winkle, it's lovely to have fabric hoarded up, if you have the room! My daughter decided to make medieval outfits for my 4 grandkiddies for my annual Yule Blot, and we found dreamy, dark jewel tone velvets and silks for them in my hoard. Nothing could have been more fun. I think if you've got fabrics you love, inspiration will come in the fullness of time.
