Swedish Rag Rugs

These bright and cheerful Swedish Rag Rugs seem like the perfect way to brighten up a hallway or kitchen. The vintage rugs come from southern Sweden and each one is a one-of-a-kind little piece of functional art that exudes warmth and beauty. Most are made from cotton or cotton blend fibers.

The vintage rugs are available from Avolli for about $60-$100 each.

If you sign up for the Avolli newsletter, you'll receive 25% off shipping on the rugs and 50% off shipping on all furniture, clock, mirrors, lighting.

I have a half-sarcastic, half-serious question: what makes these rugs worth $60-$100, when you can get a quite similar one for $5 at dozens of other places? And, in all seriousness, what's the appeal of the more expensive one?

Emika--it's vintage! It's Swedish! It's, uh, vintage Swedish. Who puts a $100 rug in a kitchen?

Amy,

Thanks so much for including our beautiful rugs in your post. What is not apparent in the images is the incredible quality of these rugs that could never be accomplished with a $5 price tag. These rugs are thick and substantial which makes their price even more amazing. Here is a comment by customer:

"The rug and plate arrived and are wonderful. The rug is wonderful in my long kitchen and the quality of this vintage rug is unlike anything new that is on the market. Who knew that a rag rug could be raised to an art form! It is particularly special for me to have both these wonderful reminders of my own Swedish heritage."

I think the saying "you get what you pay for" almost applies here but in the case of the Avolli rugs, you get more than what you pay for.

These rugs are not just for a kitchen but, as you mentioned, they work in hallways as well. Bedrooms are also a perfect place for their soft texture under ones feet.

Thanks again for including us!
