Already 50 comments for week 6 at East Village Amy's Week 6 thread (thanks Amy!).

Hey, that's amazing. A surprising number of you do a considerable amount of work from home - see survey. Perhaps that's why your taking so much care of it now. Good for you.

Meanwhile, you are in the home stretch now and you should watch out for slipped (like me). It's easy for life to intrude and I know how bad it can be. This is a good time of year to WANT to fix up your home, but with the holidays coming, there's a lot to do. I say work hard and rest after. This is your moment to do this work and it will pass. Go for it.

This Week's Assignment:

In the deep treatment the overall theme is peacefulness. As you clean out your bathroom(s), I want you to get to a point where you are able to put some calming luxury back into them. If you don't have them already, there are some purchases to be made here that can change your bathroom experience.

In the One Room Remedy take a good look at the lighting in your home. I find that most homes are underlit and that most that seem drab or uninspired could be turned around simply by addressing the lighting alone. Get adventurous! Lighting can be very affordable and different kinds of lights will really make your home leap to life. Oh, and there's some painting to do this week for some. Enjoy our small tutorial on how to paint a room. It's basic, but we find that it always helps to remember it when we're painting a room.

GENERAL INFO ---------------------------------------------

The Fall Cure is live again in all four of our Home city sites. The Cure posts will go up twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, allowing for plenty of comment space. We will be pulling comments and pics to the front page post on each of these days and everyone is urged to take pics and post them here.

REMEMBER: The goal is to use the group to support, inspire and answer questions as you go. The more you participate, the more you will get out of it. But you may also lurk if you are shy ;-).

Yay! We got a post, we weren't forgotten :) So proud of all our little group has accomplished! Our homes are getting lovelier by the week.

I don't have a tub, so I can't take a bath before work, I'm not sure what the equivalent would be...maybe yoga & warm cup of chai after? I ordered some bath stuff from philosophy so maybe a morning hot salt scrub?

Lighting definitely needs to be addressed, but I still haven't quite found what I'm looking for that's in budget so in the mean time I picked up some lightbulbs and candles.

Even though we've talked about extending the Cure, this is definitely going to be my catch-up weekend because I'd like to stay on task with only a few weeks left.

I find that I need to keep my expectations for what I can accomplish in the Cure not too sky high because otherwise I can easily feel defeated when I actually have gotten a lot done. I'm making slow progress but not as much as I'd like. But, I've definitely made progress. I cleaned out my front hall closet, which is where I stashed my most stubborn remaining clutter. Now the closet is nice, but the clutter is in the LR and I need to deal with it. Two plastic bins of paper are the primary problem. A lot of that is old personal correspondence and journals. I can cull the correspondence. But I think I'll hold onto the journals. (I think the journals are still in these bins - it's possible I found a home for them already.) And the rest is professional work from years ago that I don't know what to do with.

Hey Shona B, what color paint is that in your office/playroom? Looks beautiful and hoping it will work in my living room....

Thank you, Pixie. I needed to hear that. I've been feeling rather defeated, but I think I was expecting too much out of my first Cure. I feel better about the progress I've made now. :)

Something EVAmy pointed out to me... try to make a list of things you've actually accomplished, rather than what's not yet done. I have to admit, that makes me feel like I've done quite a bit.

Aww thanks Jen, glad my suggestion was helpful. I'm going to try the media fast tonight, hopefully it will be good for relaxing and for catching up on some curing.

And Pixie, I totally know how you feel. In the beginning my curing felt like i was just moving stuff from the area I was curing to the area left to be cured. But it's really great that my cured areas have stayed that way and there are less and less areas to be cured now. Babysteps....
