Name: Stacey
Location: Belconnen, Australia
Type: 3 bedroom ground floor apartment – owned, but we just managed to sell it last week
Why I use color:
Colour makes me happy and I used the green in our main bedroom to create a calming atmosphere. I have painted other rooms throughout the apartment. I couldn’t live with a neutral colour scheme.

2 Good color tips:
1. Go with your gut instinct, I knew the green I wanted and wouldn’t settle until I found the perfect hue
2. Don’t think about what colours will appeal to others if you are considering selling in the future. Our apartment has a few crazy colours which we thought would deter potential buyers, it however actually became a feature of the apartment.
2 good color resources:
1. Magazines- I always tear out colours and ideas which I have complied into a scrapbook of sorts
2. Real Estate Websites- In Canberra we have www.allhomes.com.au , which I check out on a daily basis. I browse through the virtual house tours and slide shows for inspiration.
It's a lovely green, and a very calm, clean room. There isn't much else, though--no different view, no other colors interacting with the green.
It's very soothing, maybe some nice artwork above the headboard would make it look more intesresting. It's lacking something...but I like the calming affect of the color. It's a very sweet looking space.
Green is definately the most used color in this contest. I would much rather see two areas of contestant's homes than two shots of the same area.
That is the green I was trying to achieve for my living room.
I like the effect of calmness this green gives it's perfect in the bedroom where you'd otherwise prefer less. The room delivers a soothing and relaxing feeling which in my personal opinion works. I understand what the others mean about the room seems to be lacking something but if you think about it what more do you need? I like it just the way it is. Good luck!
i agree w/ Joan A.: it's a lovely calming room (wouldn't mind this color combo in my bedroom), but it doesn't show complex use of color.
Where is your bedding from? I love it!
Very serene and clean. Do you mind if I just curl up on your bed;-)
Ahhhh - so comforting, fresh, lovely.
i can't think of any bad qualities in this space, but i can't think of any good qualities either. i agree with the other commenters that this green is a soothing color. if 'soothing' is what the owner was going for, then it was a good personal use of color. as an outsider looking in, though, nothing popped out at me when viewing this room. it seems somewhat empty and uncreative for this contest.
I love this. It's so nice and the scheme is timeless. One could easily change the bedding/curtains/furniture for others that have a similar feeling and it would work wonderfully.
I like this so much BECAUSE it's timeless and would work with other things. I'm tired of trends. If I saw this scheme in twenty years, it would still work. KUDOS!!
Very pretty.
Normally I don't like carpet, but with your soft, creamy tones yours reminds me of a teddy bear.
ami: is complex color better color?
I love this because I like the calm green walls. I don't think I could live here, though. I admire these very empty rooms in pictures, but my personal philosophy is that if I take off my shoes and socks and leave them in the middle of the floor and it destroys the look, then that look is not for me. A book left on the bedspread would spoil the look of this room, I believe. But it looks great in the picture.
I love the choice of green on the walls. This room just gives off a clean, calm vibe. Thanks for sharing!
this is completely boring
is that a super amart bed?? the furniture looks cheap and the bed linen is crumpled its so blah, this has to be the worst entry.
why would you even bother posting this?
