Why I use color:

COLOR CREATES MOOD.EACH COLOR EMITS SPECIFIC ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES THAT MAKE COLOR NOT ONLY A PHYSICAL FACT,BUT ALSO AN ELEMENT RELATED TO PSYCHOLOGICAL SENSIBILITY.

IN THE COLORS WE CAN FIND SENSATIONS... WHEN YOU USE THE COLOR YOU CAN PAINT YOUR OWN WORLD.

2 Good color tips:

1. THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE COLORS USED ON THE WALLS ,OR BETWEEN THESE AND THE FURNITURES, HELPS TO GENERATE EFFECTS OF CLOSENESS AND DISTANCE , CREATING A DINAMIC AMONG THE DIFFERENT ARCHITECTURAL LEVELS.

2. WHEN THE COLOR OF THE LIGHT ,WALLS AND THE DOMINANT SURFACES COME FROM THE SAME GAMUT OF COLORS, ITS POSSIBLE TO CREATE HARMONIC SPACES.

2 good color resources:

1. NATURE SEASONAL COLORS ARE MY INSPIRATION.

2. THE CITY.... IN EACH CORNER YOU CAN FIND ATTRACTIVE ATMOSPHERES.

There were things I liked about this room, and I don't want to be a pill, but the all caps combined with the unorthodox grammar/spelling got on my nerves.

The combination of all-caps and "psychological sensibility" is scaring me a little.

i.e., LIKE THIS ROOM OR ELSE!!!! BWAH HA HA!!!!

I like elements of the room, but it is too much. You have some very lovely pieces, but need serious editing, you have done them a disservice by placing too many things in the room. You sound like you were trying to give a scientific explanation for the use of color, but there are also energetic constraints when there are too many objects. You don't have to show all your objects at once. Put some in the closet and rotate them.

Someone needs to pay this guy a visit and arrange his furniture properly. And I agree with Peggy about the editing.

I think I would like it more if all the walls were the color of the one behind the bed. I feel like you need a shelf to arrange all your stuff on, there is a lot of stuff on the floor and my eye is attracted to the bottom half of the room. Are the 2 small stools actually head rests? They look like 'pillows' from East Africa.

No editing necessary. Think Romanian Gypsy caravan.
Love it.

The room has a very nice aesthetic, but I might also go darker with the other 3 walls.

I love the room. I can't believe that someone would really take the time out to comment on Capital Letters. Maybe he was just excited about joining into AT and having something to join in on? I highly doubt that his intentions were to
to use "psychological sensibility" (Judy ;) some people just don't have time to recognize all of those ity bitty things that some other person with too much time on their hands would .. Such negative energy could be a bit more refined into something a bit more positive like comments on how you feel about the room in general. Dear LAWD!

PS. Great use of Color! there are some men who don't even take the time to care. Way To Go!

I would have liked to have seen you commit to a deeper, more sensuous, earthy color on the wall behind the bed. As it stands now, you're riding the fence with a "nice" cocoa. The room is not "safe" so spice that drab color up.

Other than that, I like your design aesthetic. You've got a lot of stuff, but all in all it works fine. Kind of theme-y, but it doesn't seem too cluttered to me. Although the set up on the rug with the little stools seems, well .. too "set up" for me.

Sexier wall color could have knocked a homerun.

I love the taupes and what looks like a light creamy pink wall color mixed with the reds, woods and neutrals of your furnishings. Beautiful pallete overall. I think you can keep everything you have out if you create more balance like Cait said, by shifting the focus up. I'd like to see some of the art up higher, lighting to highlight your amazing bed and the lovely sofa/reading area - maybe something morroccan hanging in that corner?
Most importantly I would add drapery, a brown silk that matches the cushions on your sofa. Overall, great place!
