I love the first picture! The green and purple and peek of blue in the far room all stand out, but work well together too. Really makes everything look spacious.

I actually like the white you've used on the doors and window. Do you have the brand and shade?

I love that you are brave enough (or braver than me anyway) to use green and red together - and you've done it without evoking any thoughts of christmas whatsoever! also: love what you did with the fireplace, and the wave-y arrangement of pictures.. and the shelves in the kitchen window that have plants on them.. and.. actually I wouldn't mind moving in, if that's alright with you :)

This is great because she's achieved a great aesthetic, but it looks affordable. I appreciate the restraint, like the bare mantel.

Perfect shade choices for these colors because they look perfect when viewed together like in the first picture. I think I remember this home from Flickr and I still love it. Good luck!

I love how worn and beat up the Barcelona chairs are. I'd skip the pillows on them - kind of defeats the purpose of having a beautiful minimalist chair.

Good color but it doesnt feel cohesive - there are so many vibrant colors and it appears that they are all right next to each other, which means they're all going to be competing with your eye for attention. Toning down the vibrancy can bring a lot more harmony to the bules and greens and reds.

I love how this looks clean-cut yet gutsy (red and green)... yet totally, 100% liveable.

yes! eggshell for everything but trim. god i HATE flat paint. it just doesn't bring out the subtle tones of color like eggshell does :) also love all the white trim. it's one of the things that i insist upon at home!

There's something about the choice of wall colors here--different strong colors in different rooms so often looks chopped up and frantic to me, but here the greens, blues, and--is that periwinkle, or just different light?--are delicious.

And I think you should win something just for the framed picture wave. I'll bet lots of us will put that idea into play!

Ok, how the heck did you achieve the wavy pattern of the photos you hung? How are they fastened to the wall?

To answer a few questions:

The paints were all purchased at Lowe's, but I have no idea which line each color came from & didn't save the chips! I do remember the names. The green in the living room is Organic Garden, the library is Oatlands Violet, the blue in the kitchen is Rainwater, and the white on the trim is Brilliant White - as in, the can off the shelf, not a drop of tint added. Yes, really :)

The picture wave on the wall was pretty simple, but it did take a few tries - that wall is covered in tiny holes! I sketched the top line of the wave directly onto the wall in pencil and started arranging the frames - the back sides have a big enough ridge that I could hang them with a nail under each upper corner.

And we live in Edgewood - just east of downtown Atlanta.

Oatlands Violet, Organic Garden, and Rainwater are Valspar colors.

(Yes, I'm that obsessed with the Valspar chip display at Lowe's.)

The reason this works so well is that the strength of all the colours is pretty equal - if she'd used a paler or sludgeyer purple against that green (or the other way round) it would have looked wrong - keeping all the colours to the same strength/depth provides the unity

and they look sooooo good against that pure whit - crisp and clean

and I love the cushions on those chairs - stops them being like precious exhibition pieces and invited you to sit on them

I really like the colors and also the TV placement. This looks like a real person's house. I don't like that candle thing on the fireplace (too pier one) and the wavy arrangement of pictures seems forced.

I saw your post in livejournal (previous to my actual voting, but it didn't influence it).

I love how your selection of colours break the expanse of walls and room's space into cozier elements, yet keeping an airy feel. And with such rich colours, that is an incredible task to achieve!
Only one comment on the advise side (in an otherwise perfect space): let your Barcelona chairs breathe. Maybe move them away from the wall (if poss.), and put the cushions on the settee.
