Name: Lin and Rich
Location: Plymouth Meeting, Pa
Type: Owned 3 bedroom split level
Why I use color:
We use color because we like the way it makes us feel and the way it makes our house feel! The colors we have throughout our house are bright, fun and energetic, the way we like to live our lives!...

We just put an addition on and are still in the process of decorating walls, finding pictures so some walls are just full of paint as you can see.

2 Good color tips:
*Don't be afraid, be bold, brave and go with what you like!
*Look for colors in clothes, fabric, etc. and when you find one you like, get a color match at the paint store.

Favorite type and brand of paint:
We have always used Behr paint/eggshell from Home Depot.

two of the same picture? mistake?

This house reminds me of swiss cheese, but in a good way :-) Nice bold colors.

Just because you can base your decor-painting scheme "as seen through the eyes of a precocious, whimsical four-year-old," does not mean you should.

I love colors that pop and I commend their bravery; I myself have an aqua living room and a chocolate-brown bedroom. But this is the first time I've felt that perhaps the colors were a bit too vivid for my taste. They're very TANGERINE! and YELLOW! and PURPLE!
The furniture and accessories are also very statement"y", so maybe if that stuff had been a bit simpler....

Since I live in Denver, I couldn't do orange and blue myself as it generally makes me think of football, but somehow you have made it work. I like the boldness of the choices. I also like the way the artwork picks up the colors of the runner on the stairs.

feels too much like a movie theatre lobby in the 90s.

Watching The Sopranos last night, I wondered what was going on with the split-levels from my childhood back East. Now I know.

I love your curtain panels over your sliding glass door! It's a great idea that really livens up the old fashioned drapery. Where did you get it?? Did you add the panels or did you have them made? I would like to find the rods and make the panels myself so I can change then often. Please tell!

These are very bright and daring colors. I always commend folks on their guts for their use. I do think that they don't seem to "gel" entirely. I can see where the intent was, but there needs to be a bit more polish with the accessories and the final execution for it to all tie together. Lots of potential though!

You are definitely enjoying your home to the hilt. Not my color scheme, but very fun to look at. I would love visiting here.

Is this a set for an old sitcom on the WB?

I think my retinas are bleeding. You certainly win for BOLDEST and most COLORFUL... I dont think you're going to win, but somehow I think this works. I would have crazy clown nightmares if this was my house...but I think it works.

Whew. Too relentless. Needs some softening and balance.

Too much, too much. The purple, the metal chairs...
I do like the orange against the turquoise kitchen wall, and it's clear you've had a lot of fun decorating your home.
