I agree that there may be a weeee bit too much brown here (though it is one of my favorite colors!) Perhaps a small pop of another color in the mix would've been nice to see.. like a mustard, teal or orange.

Other than that, I love your use of space! You have all your necessities and still manage to keep your place neat and not cramped.

I correct myself - there is mustard and orange in the room - what I meant to say is perhaps another color (that is not in the same tone or familt as brown) to make a pop!

You have to enter smallest coolest. I really love your striped wall and am amazed that you have three different wall colors but it works. The lamp by the bed - where did you get it?

Is there a "Best use for Ikea Stohlman" contest? I feel for ya, kiddo... there is way too little closet space in that studio.

I tend to agree with the brown comments, but I do like the overall space. The stripy motif on the wall is pretty nifty too. Just a little more of the citrus-y/pepper-y colors would just make this the perfect space.

Bravo - great warm colours! I really like the space and how comfortable it looks. Strips add to originality of the place. It is perfect combination of... everything! Congrats.

Very nice my friend. The brown sets the tone for the warmth and sincerity found in your personality. Bottom line: If you enjoy the rich browns then why bother with any other color, or even, why worry about who says what? Point is, you thought about what you wanted and made it happen. Congrats.

Like others, I like the brown, but there is too much without other accents. I can only imagine this place is incredibly, incredibly dark at night.

I love the browns. Very rich. But, is that a clothing rack in front of a closet door?

I think it looks great. It may seem to some people that there is alot of brown but if you try to imagine the whole space there is only 2 small walls that are brown...andd too many pictures of those particular walls. I love the fireplace and that brick wall with accessories.

Thank you for all the great feedback! This is a unique space. I never entertain here so we were able to do it just for me. I have all the lights on dimmers so lighting has a wide range and the headboard is lit from behind. I screwed up the entry, but
Maxwell really liked it. This space truly has a comfort that can be felt, designed for unwinding after a tough day at work. Thank you! NYCL :)

I LOVE your decor and style, but I don't see a particularly exciting use of color here. That is not to say that your studio isn't sophisticated and gorgeous. But it's great features are its use of texture, graphic shapes, light, and spatial organization, NOT it's use of color. All I see are the same tones of brown and green, no variation. They work beautifully, but I would nominate this space for its decor, not for its color,

Did you paint your wall on your own?? If not, can I get a recommendation for a painter... I'm about to embark on a (much more) low-key project, but I'm scared to stripe my own wall!
