Fall Colors 2007: The Winners!

2007-11-16-danamywinner.jpg

What a finish! Last night at our wrap party at CB2 we were able to reveal the winners and discover that Los Angeles blew us away. With high color and a total ringer of an entry, Dan & Amy's Chinatown Loft took first place, while 2nd, 3rd, 4th are below....

A quote from one of our judges sums up the joy of well chosen color in Dan and Amy's modern family home - as The CB2 Crew says:

"It takes amazing talent to go this bold and pull such vibrant, rich colors together so well. The fun and energy is undeniable and infectious. The eclectic mix isn't overdone and complements the colors used to express their personalities. "

Congratulations Dan and Amy, Nathaniel and Keith, Planetsusanna and Erin and Seth on your lovely colorful homes and thanks to the 110 folks who submitted and were posted in this year's contest.

It's all about sharing, and we all did it in spades this year.

And remember,

"Nothing you do for your home is ever wasted."

Well deserved. I thought all the entries this year were impressive, but these folks have a truly inspiring approach to colour.

Plantsusanna's is still my favorite! It should have taken first place. Anyway...

Congradulations to all the winners. They are all great spaces.

I don't know if it's the new computer or the photography was outstanding for the entries but WOW, the colors are amazing for this contest.

Great choices. Congratulations to all the winners. I'm very happy to see that entries having lots of personal & quirky flair did well.

Several of the regional finalists had great color and lots of stylish furniture but the rooms looked like they were lifted from DWR and West Elm catalogs - no personal touch.

And congrats to NYCer Keith, who we met at the party last night.

It's great when the homowner is as hot/handsome as the apartment!! :)

Congratulations! That's a really brave use of color. It works really well. Beautiful!

I didn't envy the judges - there were so many great entries to choose between. Congrats to the winners. I just peeked at the reader's poll from yesterday, and it appears that ChrisToronto's Winter Antidote came out on top of that so congrats to them, too!

I cannot get over the hype that surrounds that horrible Chinatown loft. Ugh!!! I just don't get it. (I'm entitled to express my opinion).

However all of the other winners are showstoppers! Congrats!!!

congrats to all the winners. really inspired by planetsussana and one other entry from the south (can't remember the entrant's name, but she had a beautiful dinning room with blue candle sticks!)

Congrats to all the winners!

And to the finalists and contestants, too. It takes a lot of guts (as well as a great way with colour) to enter the AT contest!

I am really happy we have such terrific homes in the archives.

I was cheering for ChrisToronto. You are winners in my book!

Wasn't the Chinatown house featured in Elle Decor UK or Australia? I know I saw it in Elle, don't remember which. Does that mean the photos or the whole thing was tarted up or tweaked by professional photographers?

I really think future contests should have the "not previosuly published" caveat attached. I love the idea of AT discovering stuff.

Professional photography does not bother me, though.

I agree. If your home has been published, you've already won something. This is an opportunity to let others shine.

Even though I think all the homes are very very beautiful.
