What inspired you to use color? I'm not afraid of it! I like to take one accessory — pillow, rug, lamp — and build my rooms around it...

voting doesn't open up until Oct 20~ I tried to see the Midwest entries and it said NO and slapped my wrist...

I love the sherbert orange, it is a very popular color here in Chicago, but I agree about the red accents...think dreamsicle and get white or cream accents!

Hrrmm.. A lot of colors going on, but not really used in ways that combine well. Each room seems to be a monochrome, with matching accessories.

the apartment's great overall; have to agree with the dislike of the kitchen color, though

Readers of AT do not get to vote in the preliminaries... we vote for the winners at the end of the contest. I would not vote for this one.

i can't help but ask why the cat's litter box, and pooper-scooper is right next to the red-orange sofa and coffee table?

Ok, let me explain myself! :) I live in a small NY apt, the kitty box is in my 2nd bedroom that's not used that much - the bathroom is too small it house it and I really didn't want it in the space where people hangout when they come over - it was the only option !

How about removing the painter's tape before taking photos?

I'm always amazed at how other people decorate.

You definitely have color. The second to the last shot shows it the best.

Jealous of the West Elm bird rug because i wanted it but waited too long! But, the other two rugs seem to be floating like magic carpets and that always distracts me. I kinda agree with modfan

There seem to be two different versions of the hallway. I also like the second to last photo - the view from any spot would tend to include pieces of all the paint colors in sight, which makes a nice combination. In that way, a very good sense of colors. I don't really think of any other comments for this space particularly, but I think it's time we tell the rug industry to innovate an affordable option between the size of rug everyone gets and the next size up, which I know is huge and really a jump in price usually. People need bigger rugs.
