Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------

fallcolors1.jpgWelcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...

1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide

The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.

2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop

Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.

Best, Maxwell

Love, love, and love. This is gorgeous, earthy, organic, and I want to move in.

I also want that woven (?) giant pendant lamp.

that is some bright blue! I like it, don't know if I could live with it all the time, but I like it.

I agree with Tabitha. Nevertheless, this is a very elegant and beautifully laid out apartment. The color scheme offers many interesting surprises, which suit the apartment and taste of dweller very well. Excellent job.

What I love so much about this is that she has taken what appears to be a space with no interesting "bones" at all and turned it into a haven and a gorgeous expression of her individuality. That outdoor space is divine, beautiful use of color there, and also in the living space, lovely pops of color against neutrals

love the bathroom storage design and the coffee table/trunk and like karmah said, how the space itself now looks much more interesting

Beautiful home, but I would have liked to see more color on the walls in the living room and kitchen area.

I love the outdoor patio area...very relaxing. Also Jezebella, I think you can get that pendant (or one very similar) at Ikea.

Eeh... Jezebella, yes, the lamp is Ikea. And imho only the blue room is worth-mentioning.

Simple, economical and effective. She creates lovely and inviting living spaces. The colors do not overwhelm and in fact
simply accentuate the strengths of the apartment. Good photos enhance the effectiveness of this design. Very creative with rewarding results. Congratulations in advance.

I love the colors, it makes me feel like a caribbean vacation.
I wish my NY apt looked like that. I especially love the huge mirror over the couch, it makes the room seen so much bigger. Nice work!

Absolutely beautiful. Love the colors. You manage to have an earthy, ethnic feeling, yet the space remained very open, minimal and wordly. If I didn't know this apartment was in NY, I would guess this place would be somewhere in Italy in the house of some artsy, sophisticated latina.

Love this apartment!!! Each room has it's own personality, yet there is an organic connection throughout the space. Love the gutsy use of color in the bedroom and the quiet serenity of the patio. NYC looks like an airy retreat, not a bustling metropolis! Congrats!
