Why I use color:
"Color really brings life to a home. For the kitchen we chose to use an extremely bold blue on two walls, white on the other two. Red, silver and black accents are scattered around to complete the somewhat modern French theme. It was one of the first rooms we worked on after moving in and wanted to do something dramatic yet still inviting."

Color Tips:
"Try to balance the room. We went with an equal amount of white and blue to try to keep an open feel to the room. Too much blue would have closed the room in.
Be sure to tie everything together. Initially we didn't have much red on the white half of the room, but just a few pieces really brought it all together.
Experiment. Don't be afraid to try colors that you normally wouldn't think of using. A little bit of a bold color can go a long way."

Color Resources:
"Home Depot's Oops Paint. It's gallons of paint that are mixed but end up the wrong color from what the initial customer wanted. It's resold for around $5 a gallon and is a good way to find some unique colors.
Photos. Wander around your neighborhood and snap some photos of signs, buildings, anything you find interesting. Then browse through them and see if any colors stand out."

I love it but I keep wanting to add a hint of blue to the other side... Would it be too weird to have a blown-up picture of say a blue sky/map (in paris? too treacly?) and pin those wonderfully arranged photos on top of it?
I like this so much. I wish you guys had painted your cabinets as well, but perhaps you feel the wood finish is the best choice for you.
Is the way the computer is set up functional and comfortable?
Thanks for the comments. We actually have a blue shelf that we've been thinking of putting up there under the clock.
It's a TV and DVD player, very slim and fits well in the kitchen :)
Your lighting, use of space and photography are well done. The shade of blue and the photography wall is very nice. What is the kitchen flooring? It looks very nice and gives a rustic "French Quarter" feel.
thanks for sharing!

Weirdly enough, I like the white wall best! Everything about it is very cool and modern. I am just not a big fan of wood.
