Just so that you have a real good chance to look back two weeks at ALL the submissions, we have painstakingly put together this list. Of course, this is all on The Contest Page already, but we're here to help.
This is what we've got on the East Coast so far (the West Coast is here). Take a look if you haven't seen them all yet and vote on every one. We'll have a bunch more entries at the beginning of the week and then we'll start to tally...! Good luck everyone!

The best designers - and certainly the most celebrated modern designers such as wright, corbusier. mies and others - drew inspiration from vernacular design. In other words "unprofessional," or "home-grown" design. They became great by reinterpreting and refining ideas that more established institutions wouldn't even look at because they weren't "refined" enough. While I personally think several entries are frightening enough for a halloween contest, even those usually have a technique or idea that is worth refining or investigating further or would be interesting in your own way. Plus, you have to give people credit for being daring and putting hours and hours of work in. And risking being publicly trashed by some know-it-all.
The set of Pee Wee's Playhouse was brilliantly conceived and constructed, thank you very much.
I sent mine in a while back, received confirmation of receipt..yet have seem no mention or pics of it anywhere on the contest page....emails to inquire have gone unanswered.
michael--
I think this is just the list so far, with last batch starting to appear again on Monday.
Thanks, Patrick, indeed, the text above says, "We'll have a bunch more entries at the beginning of the week." I see yours is still in the queue, so don't worry.
This contest is a total farce. So far I have seen TWO entries that dont look like they were decorated by a bored teen-aged girl on her summer break. Perhaps Pee Wee should enter this contest... actually... Pee Wee sould be winning right now. And thats just sad.
Why do people confuse lack of regard to style and balance with CREATIVITY! These rooms are those of the kid who wins the art show in junior high with his SPLATTER PAINTING. So far, most of the rooms have been completely disjointed and random collections of knick-knacks. Its like Fred Sanford on LSD.
I sincerely hope that all the good entries are just around the corner and will bring this site back up to what should be its standards. During the Small Apartment contest there was a HUGE gap between the good and bad, and Im expecting this to happen once again here.
Wow, rude much? Matt, I'm glad you have such black & white (pun intended), rigid standards of what constitutes "good" design.
I am so glad that the rest of us junior high schoolers have someone so dedicated to educating us about good taste.
Sorry we don't all belong to the Albert Speer school of home decorating, and that our lovingly thought out, happily lived-in homes, and beloved knicknacks are such an insult to your sensibilities.
matt,
I trust that when your entry makes its debut, it will easily take first place, so why complain?
And what's wrong with Fred Sanford on LSD?
Hey Matt,
Just out of curiousity, which two entries met your exacting standards?
I was wondering if anyone knew exactly how this contest was being judged? I read the page that explains that there will be several rounds till its just the east winner vs. the west winner but are the apartment therapy staff the judges or is the public? I understand that you can choose to vote for each person but I just did not know if that was serious voting or just a fun online opinion vote type thing.
Those votes are apparently a fun online vote type thing with serious implications for who advances to finals. A few of us kinda knew that, but even so, I wish the vote-type categories had been clearer on that issue. "A dark horse" is somewhat different from "I'll smash my Heywood Wakefield if this room is a finalist."
