I've Got Color Contest: Honorable Mention - Shannon & Erica

10-21-shannon12.jpgShannon & Erica's submission garnered a great deal of praise, Yellow Ribbons and controversy as the issue of subdued colors counting as colors came to the fore. To be fair, this was intended to challenge the masses and the notion of color, and it seemed to work:

Jill: I really liked Shannon and Erica's bklyn thing but I guess I have to admit it really isn't about color enough for this contest. They took the greatest liberties I think? ALthough it is just more subtle and maybe subtlety doesn't win out on the internet. I would love to do a house tour of some of these though. Can I poach them?

Tim: this is the part about blogs that makes me laugh, and i enjoy it - this is by far my favorite room so far, because "i've got color", to me at least, doesn't have to mean I'M GARISH! they use beautiful color in a stylish way.

James: mmmm.... relaxing colors.

christine: Love the room, but it's white!

Wende: Beautiful room! While I'll never agree with p(too) that white or beige are "colors" rather than neutrals, I feel joy just looking at your space and want to dive through the photos to spend time there.

I think there were other rooms (like Eric's subdued Retreat and Courtney's Museum Color Inspiration) that pushed the notion of color and got much closer being contenders than did this entry.
