Just like on your foreign vacation. One thing we really like is how the towel racks in Europe keep towels warm and dry.
This one was recommended over the weekend by a friend who had tried a bunch and finally was happy with this one.
The Mr. Steam Electric Towel Warmer is pricey but allows you to hard wire it into your wall and control the temperature with the thermostat, ensuring that you never mistakenly burn yourself. We're adding it to our archive of good bathroom purchases. (Thanks, John!)

$700 for a heated towel bar that isn't all that great to look at??? I've seen much more interesting options.

Not only kinda ugly, they take about two hours to heat up. I usually don't plan my showers that far ahead. I guess you could leave it on, but in these days of being "green," that's unnecessarily wasteful.

I have (a different brand) on a timer. Switches on around 22:30 & switches off 02:00. When I hear it click off I know I've spent oo much time surfing!! (It's midnight right now.)
Sydney being humid, my primary concern isn't so much a warm towel as a dry, unsmelly one.
So I shower whenever I like, have a warm towel 9 out of 10 times, and it's always dry.

I just don't get it... in these days of peak oil, greenhouse warming and eco-consciousness, isn't this like the most over-indulgent, unnecessary, gluttonous use of energy? What's the point of expending all of that energy for something that will release all of its heat quickly and will be in contact with your skin for less than a minute?
