Dear AT,
I am thinking about getting a Shower Panel/Massage Jets.
Does anybody have any thoughts about it?
The price varies from $400 to over $5000.
My contractor will install a panel before tiles so the last thing I like to do is replace a malfunctioning panel.
I like to get a reliable one, but since shower panels are not around for decades, I cannot seem to find many ratings.
I should go with a well-know brand such as Kohler, but it costs over $5000, which is way too much for me.
With my limited budget (around $600), could I get a reliable panel or I should forget about the shower panel?
Any inputs (thoughts, recommendations or any experiences) are highly appreciated.
Thanks! Mie

Instead of a panel, you could also consider installing a rain showerhead and several water tiles below your regular shower head.

I have a hansgrohe Interaktiv S shower panel, actually this is my second one, and have been very very pleased with the performance and the finish durability. It was about $700 with 6 bodyjets and an adjustable spray head.

Look on overstock.com-- last time I was there, they had a few panels.

Try doing some research using Google Shopping - you can narrow down the selections from various retailers based on the price you're looking for.

Is a shower with these things really soooo much better than a good shower head? I've never used one, so curious. Skeptical, but curious.

Check eBay - I bought a Moen Showhouse Vertical Spa system for about $500 (retail: $2800). Mine is in a discontinued color, and it's just great. I don't know about other brands, but with Moen the parts are guaranteed for life, another bonus. We ran the plumbing, installed the tile, then mounted the fixtures.

PS - I would like to add that body sprays, etc are very very nice but you'll need to make sure your hot water tank is big enough. Usually each head is 2.5 gallons per minute... so, 4 body sprays and 1 shower head is 12.5 gallons per minute - yikes. I only use the whole thing occasionally when I am stressed and need something special.

A friend of mine has an shower with 5 heads- basically a walk in closet that has so many jets you practically need an oxygen tank to breathe. I'm all for lifes little luxuries, but frankly, I think he wasted his money. I've used the shower with all the jets on and really, there's not that much of a difference than with just the main head. He himself admits that to only really using the main head on a day to day basis.

Not to mention I feel incredibly guilty at how much water is being wasted when all the jets are on! With Ilovebutter's figures thats 125 gallons of water for a ten minute shower...

Thank you very much for your comments.
I will check rainshowerhead, ebay, moen, interaktiv, overstock....
Yes, it is a lot of water...that is one of the reasons I am kind of hesitant.
Modfan, your comments made me laugh...I even don't have a walk-in closet and I cannot afford to buy an oxygen tank.
(So maybe I should stick with a regular shower head...?)
Coyotejed, IF I install a shower panel, you can come over and try it out.
