The other is a floor-concealed tub. The slatted wood floor folds open to reveal a recessed bathtub. When it's not in use, look at all the extra floor space you have!! Beautiful.

I love this!!! Especially the tub.
But what are you going to use the extra space over the tub for? Also, I think most people bathe at least once a day... so you'd have to uncover the tub pretty often.
on the far side of the tub is the shower! This is genius.

I don't take a bath, ever (ie. I shower),it is however, always a selling feature in a house to have a bathtub.

It appears that when you shower, the wooden grate remains down and the water drains into the tub below. I rarely take a bath, and opt for a shower most often so a bathtub is almost useless for me. But I do love to take a nice soaking bath occasionally.
This design allows your bathroom to appear bigger and unclutered. I love it. It would be a hassle cleaning the tub for most people I am thinking, but I do it once a week anyways.
I am wondering if the entire wooden grate is removable to clean the entire floor. After a lil more thinking, this might not be easy maintenance for most, but it's a great option for us who won't mind.
amazing! i think i'd need like 4 houses to implement all of the cool ideas and "i want that"s from AT. sigh.
That tub looks too much of a hassle to use and to clean.
The only way I think the tub space could be improved is if it were turned the other way. Only because if you tried to bathe a baby/small child in it the way it's set up now you'd have no choice but to get soaked yourself, where as if it were turned perpendicular to the direction it is now, you could lean over the edge like a traditional tub.
I'm pretty sure I love the kitchen. The website is kind of sketchy on details. I keep thinking about buying an old Airstream, gutting it and retrofitting it with modern appliances and solar panels. This looks like it would be perfect. The bathtub is a cool idea but the idea of sitting that far below the floor seems a little intimidating and dungeonlike to qualify as soothing. Especially with the trap door hovering over ready to crash down on your head at the slightest disturbance.
