Flickr Finds: Belledame's Decorative Panels

10-27-belle1.jpg

Beautiful, textural panels seem to be a theme running through Belledame's interior. She has managed to select several very nice panels (from wrought iron to fabric to carved wood) in intricate patterns that make her place rich and cozy.

While she figures out how to arrange her collected finds, they act as a source of inspiration. Just take a look at the intricate wrought iron panel in the first photo above. It makes a garden altar of sorts out of her library.

Belledame bought this print at Union Square and found the perfect carved wood frame for it a year later.

Belledame has only one yard of this and would love more. Does anyone know where she can find it?

Well, I am Belledame73 and largely flattered to be on the front page. What a surprise! And last night I was thinking that when it is done maybe I'll submit a house tour.

I am curing but not really sticking to the Cure calendar so who knows when it will be done. And last weekend I found a clearance decorative carved door at Pier 1 upstate. Who knows where that's gonna fit in. The place is already loaded with furniture.

Plans: there will be a great book reduction, that blue table is going, somehow I'll fix that kitchen wall and improve those shitty cabinets...

All constructive comments are welcome. There are more photos in my Flickr set. I could really use the advice. (Clutter can be reduced but will always be a distinct part of my personality. I view stuff as proof of life.) Also, I found that frame a year before the picture. That artist is still selling in Union Square.

And I live in Brooklyn. That was just a Paris vacation.

Thanks all!

I would have posted more photos on Flickr, but I hit the monthly limit. There will be more next week.

Ok, I've calmed down now. Somehow all my Mother bear protective tendencies were let loose.
I'll go happily back to my (somewhat cluttered) cave now.

Doesn't she have wonderful things to decorate with? So much texture and colour. Her place will be fantastic once she's finished curing. So pleased to see her profiled.

How about an "I've Got Panels" contest? or "I've Got Texture"?

:)

She does have nice things n all but I'd rather see a finished project. The wrought iron (panel)is gorgeous but I can't seem to get inspiration from all the (stuff) around her library. I would love to see this when it's complete maybe a house tour? With all the beautiful fabric and other materials I know this place will be awesome.

I think this was posted in order to incite AT readers. While I do think the things are nice, I don't think they are exceptional (but my home is not exception either). I just don't understand why you would feature something like this on a site full of clutterphobes.

Clutter seem to be a theme running through Belledame's interior.

I love what Belledame has to work with - the fabrics, wrought iron, frames, and other pieces around the apartment. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

anonymous,

these pix ARE from the apartment therapy cure photostream, so I'm sure Belledame is fully aware of whatever clutter issues she may be facing, and has probably already dealt with them at this point.

Um, excuse me, but belledame is doing the cure. These are her "before" photos--which means she is working very very hard on her place and making a home for herself and dealing with all the issues that raises.

No comments about clutter allowed.

And, in fact, I'd like the mods and Maxwell to consider the wisdom of a post like this on AT. It takes a lot of guts...and trust...to let folks see the true state of things in your home. But we posted our pics in good faith--and found--that all of us are pretty much in the same boat. That's WHY we're doing the cure.

So, mods and Maxwell, think about this: if folks are going to participate in an on-line cure, how many do you think will post pics and participate as fully as we have been--if you go and post pics of someone's home (pre-cure)?

It could, in a way, be considered a violation of belledame's trust. But maybe you asked her and she's fine with it. In that case, never mind me.

Alana in Canada ~ I wasn't aware of this but I'm really sorry I stated what I did. But you know what, my apt. looks like this right now - as well as many of my friends etc. I'm not curing anything right now just living trying to get my bills paid on time. Looking at these entries is my inspiration and my therapy. It helps me see spaces that are both beautiful and inviting and refreshing. So when I get home from a long days work I can feel inspired to pick up ( a little anyway) before I turn in. So please sorry to you and Belladame if I was out of line.

I like this entry because I'm working on some of the same issues in my place, and it's nice to see that even when you're surroundings are in the middle of being sorted out, you can still find things to keep you motivated.

But it might be a little perplexing for people who aren't following the AT Cure, or people just tuning in who might not even know what that is. There's no mention in the post that it's a "before" photo from an ongoing project.

I, for one, would die if a "before" photo showed up unaccompanied by the "after" shot. Because my "before" photos are really, really "before."

It'll be interesting to see how Belledame uses the fabrics and decorations in her revamped space! I hope the mods post that too.

I enjoyed the slide show. Does Belledame live in Paris? I'm interested in seeing what she does with her beautiful fabrics and city space.

Ok no clutter comments but I just dont see what you guys do. If I were Ms. Belle I would throw what looke to me like junk and start over.

And to Alana It would help if the home is going through the cure that was put someplace in the title.

I really like her fabric, but I've noticed many people have posted wrought iron in their apartments lately. Is this a new trend, because I am definitely not liking it.
