"Female and taken," Evoque nevertheless charmed us silly with her profile (But where IS the "most luxurious bed in the world"?) and these great pics of her living room. We particularly like the simple way she has integrated mid-century modern into a traditional New England environment.

I use foil to cover the drip pans under each burner. I am Asian. I have seen foil being taped to the wall behind the stove as well. I recoil when I see that. Interesting that Shanna had the same reaction to what I think is ok.
Astute observation Aristocrat!
I am curious - what does the rest of the world do?! Don't you find the burnt drippings unsightly especially if you have an open kitchen? I'll be happy to change my ways if a more elegant solution is offered!
Is their plasma crooked or is it just me?
It's not just me! That "traditional New England environment" is Lexington, Kentucky. I've been sayin' that certain parts of the South look just like Connecticut due to the shared fascination with Colonial Revival architecture.
This was fun. Love all the call-outs on items. And the cat.
So light and also cozy. It's nice to see lots of different folks feeling at home in this place (two men--one in apron!--and a very contented cat).
I LOVE the curtains most of all, although I'm immediately drawn to curtains since I've been obsessing over buying some for the past week. Are they the pb carlisle? If so, my decision is made.
Wende, you're right--this is not Lexington, MA, which does not have an Opera House Square. or redbud trees in bloom in mid-April.
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your kitty doesn't match the decor. You need to change that.
I didn't know you could mount a plasma over a working fireplace. How does that wiring work?
Don't mean to be snarky, but are those foil-wrapped drip pans under the burners? Please stop, I can't take it!
Shanna, it's an asian thang, you wouldn't understand...
Yes - do you use your fireplace and where did you hide the wires (in the wall?)
Thanks for the nice comments, all!
Yes, this is Lexington, KY--not MA. And yes, the foil thing is definitely from my Filipina upbringing. Old habits are hard to break, they say.
The plasma is mounted over a working fireplace, but we scarcely use it as it uses natural gas. The cabling is all external, and we used a bunch of stuff from CableOrganizer.com to manage it.
We do have a black-and-white cat, but he's not half the camera hog the orange-and-white one is.
evoque, that's a well done cabling job if it's all external. I don't see a single cable leading to the TV. Where is the power and video feed? I would think it would either have to be in wall (I can't see any conduits or other concealing devices) or disconnected when not in use.
To clarify, the plasma photos were taken post-hanging and pre-cabling. We're waiting on a couple of media carts from cb2 before we take a new picture of our AV setup.
Evoque, what software are you using to join your photos together? Great stuff, btw.
... I think we scrub them off.
I can't figure out what is front of the pass through from the kitchen to the living room. It looks like the back of a tv. I don't get it, is there something blocking it?
Where is the fireplace in relation to the room, I am having trouble today!
Jen - the TV used to live in front of the passthrough, before it got mounted on the wall.
The fireplace is in the corner of the room, between the wall with the cupboards and the wall with the passthrough, but it's set at an angle, so the room has 5 sides.
I will stick to the foil then, thanks.
