Big changes can be seen in this before, during and after slideshow from Lexipup. The old floral shower curtain is gone, a frameless glass shower enclosure has taken its place. New fixtures and finishes have really turned this place around.

We especially love the niche in the shower - it's similar in size and shape to the showerhead, which is very cool. Take a look! -regina
Lexipup,
Wow, brilliant work! I am planning a similar overhaul, so please let me ask: where did you get the glass enclosure from?
Thanks.
Is your tub undermount and where did you get it? How big is it?
I'm planning a bathroom renovation and plan to use a soaking tub. However, there are very few 60X32 soaking tub.
A few answers- total all in cost was around $25K- but I went very high end on tile, and all fixtures and fittings
On the hamper- I got rid of it- had them pull it out on the demolition, and then just plastered/tiled where it was. I never used it and it took up space in a very small room.
The glass enclosure was from ABC mirror and glass- they were very easy to work with.
The tub was an undermount- it is the Kohler Tea for Two model. it is 60" by about 32"
Thanks for all the compliments~
Very informative - I would love to do an enclosure like this one in my own bath/shower and was wondering if they were practical so it's great to see it actually done. It came out so beautifully I would love to learn a little more about it:
-How long did it take to this full reno and was it very expensive from a contracting perspective?
-Does the enclosure really keep the water in, and is it tough to keep clean?
-In general, do people find smaller tiles like these hard to keep clean?
As you can see, keeping the bathroom clean is a big challenge for me ;-).
If they're laid properly (smooth) and sealed properly I don't see why small tiles would be any harder to clean than any other surface.
Is there a concern I'm not seeing?
-How long did it take to this full reno and was it very expensive from a contracting perspective?
The complete renovation took about a month. The contractor costs were about $12K (included some other minor projects in the apt)
-Does the enclosure really keep the water in, and is it tough to keep clean?
It keeps the water in, because the shower head is a rainshower and points down, not out. It is very easy to clean- I have a little squeegee I got at Bed, Bath and Beyond for the glass. Other than that, just a bit of windex.
-In general, do people find smaller tiles like these hard to keep clean?
The tiles are very easy to clean, nothing special.
If you don't mind the question, what was the total cost of this renovation? (My husband and I are considering renovating 2 bathrooms, so we're trying to get an idea of prices). It looks fabulous, by the way!
Very nice Shari, congrats and enjoy!
I didn't see the hamper in the after shots and was wondering if you did anything to it. I want to change mine and would love any input.
Thanks.
Shari, your bathroom looks great!
Emma: we're also in the process of a reno, and found a great soaking tub with your measurements (we are similarly constrained by 60" long tub--http://www.vitabath.com/venetian.htm is the manufacturer, but we just ordered it today from quality bath.com
Thanks so much for providing so many details! My bathroom is laid out almost identically to yours, except I have maybe 6 extra inches between the vanity and sink, and the door is facing the toilet. So this is all great information, I had been wondering about getting a soaking tub into a space so small too but it seems like it all works!
Shari-
Thanks for answering. I've been looking at that tub.
Karyn-
The vita bath looks good. Unfortunately, I'm looking for a cast iron tub. So I've been looking at the Kohler Tea for Two and a tub by a company called Sunrise.
Thanks so much for posting your pics and answering questions! My bathroom is the same size so this is very inspirational! What did you do with the wall opposite the toilet? What brand is your showerhead? What are the advantages/disadvantages? of a rainshower model?
Thanks again -
Sharona
Hi Shari,
Love your renovation; thanks for the inspiration. I'm making final choices for an overhaul of my (very similar) bathroom in January. Can you tell me if you have a medicine cabinet, or storage behind your bathroom mirror? If so, would you describe, or if it's a cabinet, would you provide the make, model, retailer? It's just right. Also, I like the clean look of the shelves and the larger tiles. Any specs would be appreciated.
Sharona,
the wall opposite the toilet is tiled in a similar way to the wall behind the toilet- halfway up with the handmade ceramic tile and the glass liner bars as a border.
There is also a 24" towel bar, matching the 18" towel bar next to the toilet.
The shower head is by Graff- style #8437.
The key to a rain head is make sure you have the right length arm- I used a 20" arm by JAclo.
Otherwise I would be standing right against the wall.
Also, make sure it is high enough, so if any tall people can use it!
Hi, Me Next.
It is a medicine cabinet- it is by Affinia the Basix line. I wanted something with very simple lines and I liked this one a lot. It fits the "square" theme, I had in the room.
The shelves are actually from Bed, Bath and Beyond- the cheapest things in the room!! I had originally picked out a different shelf, but it was too deep, I needed a shallower depth over the toilet.
The larger tiles are actually 3 different size tiles in a "random" pattern- 4x4, 4x8 and 8x8. They are from the Modulus line by Trikeenan- however, I think they were very expensive for how they came out, I think you might be able to find something similar, much cheaper. These are handmade (and gorgeous up close) but I would probably use something a bit cheaper if I did it again.
This is a great bathroom reno - thanks for sharing the pics. It's great to see such a small bathroom looking so hot. We have a tiny bathroom and have been at a loss for what to do with it.
