Because this Flower-Box Award scout did not see a single living plant, let alone a flowering one, in the last week due to her fieldtrip to the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, this week's award goes to the closest thing she saw: her own tent's fake garden.
Knowing there would no green matter for at least ten square miles, I sliced a 5' bamboo pole into four pieces and packed them into our camping gear. With some leftover fake flowers I'd used to decorate my evening coat, the Apartment Therapist and I rigged up a little garden in front of our tent. It's no flowerbox, but it's the only domestic landscaping I saw for days - and for that, I give us this week's award. skgr

Lovely. Resourceful. Spare. Compact.
We'd expect nothing less!
AND the desert suits you!
Did you miss the tent set up by bluehouse at ~ 8:30 and esplanade? It had 1300sq feet of live grass... rolled out as pieces of sod. Lovely, and refreshing after a day of the bland and dusty.
