In Jennie's words:
I have possibly the world's smallest balcony. I reckon I have about 9 sq.feet, and the only thing that separates my half of the balcony from my neighbor's is what used to be a dirty white and mouldy mdf...
I washed the mdf and gave it a few watered down coats of yellow ochre. I then did up a boring grey flower box with a dcoupage of an old paper bag from Kusmi tea. There's just space for rosemary, thyme and some baby bamboo. And a fabric lamp from Hong Kong.
It's often grey and rainy in Copenhagen, but there's a tiny bit of something reminiscent of sunny Tuscany outside my living room.
Dear Jennie,
We think this is a good transformation for a very tiny space. The Kusmi decoupage colors work well with the ochre and the lamp's red as well. It seems as if the plastic planters are very popular for balconies, but many people are unhappy with their basic colors. This was a nice way to make the planter really work for your space. And if the rosemary and bamboo continue to grow you should have a little more privacy as well!
We have a little gift in the mail to you: a pot from Ecoforms and seed packets from SelectSeeds.com to help make your gardens grow. Enjoy!
Best,
