Last weekend it happened, and I missed it.
Even though those gorgeous pink blossoms are gradually dropping to the ground, there is still something quite arresting about the scene here at 44 East 3rd Street: just one lone tree, about to outgrow its concrete planter, giving passersby reason to slow down and notice.
These are the things I am most thankful for as a New Yorker. skgr

I love that we have so many flowering trees in the city. Tulips don't survive very well here, but it's great to be walking along and have all those cherry blossom petals falling all around you.
