Apple Racks at Plantstuff.com

11.13.apple_rack.jpg

Why don't we have these stateside? We came across these apple racks at UK-based Plantstuff then started looking for something similar available in the US...

Alas, we didn't find a thing, but we still had to share this. We love these beech wood racks' simple, functional and straightforward design. The drawer bottoms are made of wooden slats, making the rack good for storing apples and other fruits and vegetables like onions and potatoes. An alternative use for the rack is storage of shoes and boots, as in the photo below.

This looks easy enough to make if one were so technically inclined.

Wow. This gives me ideas. I could see one in a closet dedicated to shoes. I'm also trying to figure out the best way to incorporate one into a kitchen remodel without blocking the airflow or just setting it on the counter.

I also may have to get my table saw up and running (and learn how to use it - garage sale bargain).

Just don't store apples, onions, and potatoes together (near one another) - they make each other spoil.
