Herb Garden Container from Royal VKB

imgzoom-Herb-garden-Royal-VKB-refvt830-dgw.jpg

This melamine herb garden container, with scissors tucked into an integrated pocket, can be used to grow your own herbs or simply to organize those you've bought from the greenmarket. Although it would look lovely on a windowsill, we could even imagine the container as a centerpiece filled with herbs for post-meal tisane.

The Herb Garden was designed by Officeoriginair for Royal VKB. It sells for €30 direct from Royal VKB — though we've previously spotted Royal VKB products at Conran Shop and MoMA Store.

I can't figure this out from the photos or description, but is there any drainage at all? If not, then this is not very practical, albeit beautiful.

It looks similar to one I bought last year that I saw posted here on AT: http://aplusrstore.com/product_detail.php?pid=259&show=product

I believe the idea is that you put only a little bit of water in the bottom of the vessel and that, combined with airflow, keeps the herbs fresh.

To be honest, I ended up using mine to display flowers and I keep the herbs in the refrigerator.

im with faith im not sure how this would get drainage

The way the scissors are attached tho suggests you will be regularly growing and snipping not just keeping store bought herbs fresh. Also in the picture those are clearly growing plants

the only thing i can think of is maybe its just a container and you place each herb inside its own pot (or just in the plastic pot it came in) and place it in there to make it prettier.

I love the way herbs and pots look, but I find with kits like is this - Herbs grow at different times from seeds, so you'll never get that look all at once. They also have different spacing and water requirements. For that look, I'd buy herbs from the nursery and keep them in their individual pots. Place them in a large dish.
