Hot or Not? Bloom My Buddy
Floral Arranger by Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe

Take floral arranging to another level with Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe's Bloom My Buddy — the person-shaped vases are totally weird and totally fun at the same time — allowing for endless original creations when you add your own flowers, leaves and stems!

Originally commissioned by the Flower Council of Holland, the larger design (shown in the last two thumbnails) has been downsized for a home version. The smaller one measures 45 cm ( or 17.75"H) , is made of rotation moulded polyethylene and has 98 holes. The larger version measures 120 cm, is made of hand laminated polyester and has 298 holes.

The smaller size Bloom My Buddy is available from Generate for $200.

I love it, and would buy one right now if the price wasn't $200. I could see this getting taken up by Target.

Practical question: With so many holes, isn't it impossible to put water in there? Are you supposed to use florist foam blocks or something? Or fake flowers?

$200 for the small one. These are crazy. It would tend to be expensive to keep it full of flowers. I am not thrilled with the shape. I voted not, but this is a solid middle choice - again. It could be better, it's not the worst thing I could imagine, fun and novel but mostly ugly.

I like the idea, it would look great in a kids room, but not at that price point.

I RARELY have fresh flowers in my life, and I certainly wouldn't waste them this way.
