Seed tape is a strip of thin, biodegradable paper with seeds evenly spaced along its length. Use seed tape in a garden or even in a little planting bed or window box and plants will sprout up in evenly-spaced rows.

We think the real advantage of this product is that it makes planting large gardens easier. But seed tape can definitely be used in smaller, more urban settings, too. There is absolutely no waste involved, as the tape is at once the packaging and the product. We love this reduction of packaging in an over-packaged world. And just look at the results of this ingenious little creation:

Easy to make with toilet paper, too. Dab TP with a little flour/water paste, add seed. COntinue down the line, folding in half lengthwise to cover the seeds as you go (paste should stick to the top part, too).

It may be convenient, but how is it green, unless you make it yourself with reused paper?
I have, however, seen greeting cards and newspaper ads that have been impregnated with seeds. That's kind of interesting; once you're done with it, you can plant it.
